notice anything about the brake lights? They are backwards are they not? I wonder if he swapped locations with the running lights to make it look different? somebody pulled up next to me at a traffic light and told me two of my brake lights were out when in fact they were not. As you know only two of the brake lights light up and the outside two are running lights. anyway I found that curious but wanted to post this because I've never done a burnout with my 355 because I kind of baby it....so here is to living vicariously through the video for all of those who wanted to know what it would be like to do a burnout with your 355

I think it's a Euro car. Their tail lights light up differently for brake and turn signal.

Yes, those lights indicate it's a Euro spec car.

And I think it's an F1 trans at that.

Bumper is non-US (license plate area width), lights are also non-US. This should have amber rear turn signals.

I would not be able to do this with my car simply for the thought of the clutch wear.

Don't slip the clutch, no wear...It's the tires that wear when you launch like that.

    That's in Australia.

The lights are normal (our cars are basically Euro spec).

Put it in sport (although you don't really have to)

    Engage first gear

Floor the throttle very quickly. Job done. :)

My friend did this video. It's been copied numerous times. He was a distributor of Mille Miglia exhausts (that was fitted to this car). It's an F1 GTS and is currently for sale, been on the market for 2 years - I think the odd interior colour (grey) and this video has something to do with it!

So all you have to do is floor it and the F1 will dump the clutch?

I've done mild wheel spin from a standing start but never 100' burnout like that. I'd gotten over wanting to until watching that video.

I was waiting for the inevitable clunk from a busted transaxle.

It'd only break if your tires hooked up, not if you're spinning the tires.

I feathered a hard launch like that a little too much at an autox and smoked my clutch, probably took 5k miles off of it. Better to dump it and spin the tires. Harder trans shock on a fast 1-2 shift than a clutch dump as when you do the 1-2 shift the tires grip hard and transmit all of the force through the trans. When you dump the clutch it instantly breaks tire traction instead of transmitting all of the force through the trans.

Best launch for fast 0-60 is clutch dump at 4500-5k rpm and keep rpms just over 4k with tires spinning (don't floor it) until the tires hook, then floor it. You might get a little faster time by slipping the clutch a little, but high risk of smoking the clutch as I found out.

Not sure with the f1,but it sure looks like the computer does a clutch dump and doesn't feather it at all.
