Hmm, maybe it's been leaking longer than I thought. Never noticed it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes it has, and it apears it's more from the line and not the union. The Pic is of the gasket/washer from the Union to oil pan. This gasket is not between the hose and union/fitting connection, there isn't a gasket between the hose and union. Image Unavailable, Please Login
You can get that fitting off with a huge vice grip wrapped in a soft cloth it won't mar it at all. I don't remember a gasket ever being present when I removed mine. That looks like oil is wicking downward pull back the sheathing and check integrity of the end crimp.
That is a leaking oil line..Take care of that soon. The line goes into a compression fitting, which screws into the oil tank. That gasket is between the fitting and the tank.
So, the line itself is leaking. Got it. So, is there a company that rebuilds these? Just looking around on ebay, I can't believe what people are selling a hose w/ 2 fittings for. Geez.
Same here! same leak, same situation. The car sat for a month, then the leak. but WHY would the oil leak be MUCH DARKER OIL than my other leaks???? Perhaps old oil stuck in there at the leak point? Now the leak has the same color as my other leak(s).
Excellent! My tank had a crack at the small pipe with fitting. Shop welded it and saved me more than a grand!
Very good tightening worked. Keep an eye on it in a few months. Its not like it will explode instantly if there was a leak on the hose. Alot of these cars weep and drip when not used. I keep mine in a heated garage. Let any car sit outside in the cold enough and you have potential to see a nice lil puddle until you start using it again! Apparently f1 is notorious for this but mine never gave the actuator leak luckily.
Guess what? Starting my first solo oil change and tank pipe is bone dry. BUT I found oil on fittings under the engine near the pressure bolt cover bolt. That was kinda chewed up too but not bad. For 2 years I have seen NO oil stains on the ground. When I did the shift cable last year after the major I don't remember it being oily. Also, tank was bone dry even while running on 2 short warms up! Yikes, I let it go after the major. Pressure and engine temp were fine all along but oil temp as still on the peg just then. Not sure it was hot enough. Stick was oily but not coated at first. Stayed dry after wiping. I have the 12mm allen socket on order but will make due with my close matching T120 torque socket. The star matched the hex and with one wrap of fireproof aluminum tape it fits snug in the bolt. I hope it will take 30 ft lbs required. Also got a filter universal strap wrench set. So many fiddly frustrations but I WILL get this done.
