Anyone have any experience with the NITTO NT555R tires?
They are tires for street car drag racing, not sure if you have that in mind. There's also a NT 555R2 which has a stiffer sidewall and is more suited for road racing. I gave the 555R2 a try on my car as the Nitto NT01 were sold out and they are far inferior to the NT-01 The 555 lost all their grip after a few heat cycles and I had to toss them. As the NT01 are still out I am now giving the Toyo888 a try
Just found a set of Toyo888s locally, gonna give em a bash. Apparently they're the same as the NT01s, lets see.
I had NT01 on my 355 and they were great. Pretty cheap for high performance tire. Very sticky and picked up every stone on the road. Not very noisy but not as quite as MSSP. I think the Toyos maybe pretty noisy for the street.
Yeah I've heard some ppl saying they are pretty loud but my car is rather loud so that might drown out the sound of the tires and honestly at the price I'm getting these I can't refuse. Worth it just to try em out
might as well try them out! Toyo and Nitto are produced by the same company, so they should be fairly comparable.
I used NTo1's on my M5 for track tires. They made a huge difference when compared to a high performance street tire.
The Toyo 888 are extremely noisy. They sound like a bad wheel bearing, well in this case like 4 bad wheel bearings ;-) On the track you can immediately tell, when a car with 888 drives by I only use them for the track (on a dedicated set of wheels) so I don't care about the noise, but for a daily driver, it gets annoying very quickly
Sumitomo HTR Z all the way. Inexpensive, very grippy and long lasting. Fairly quiet as well. Greg Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
