I found an uncut original folding key.. tossed it up on ebay if anyone is looking for one.

I've been MIA for a while, hope everyone is doing well. My old 348 is now on the West coast and the new owner seems pretty happy with it. He just needs to drive it more LOL

someone sold one last week for $299. I might be a cruel dud but even I could sleep after that. Toss in a bid, I figure that way the market ill set it's own price.

who is Ferrparts on ebay? I see they have a few for $400 +

I didn't realize they were selling for so high.

Looks like we should have jumped on them when they were about $120 LOL

I have 1 key left. The other 3 sold north of $300.

$275 ... and if you are nice I'll ship USPS priority at no charge.

I saw one the other week for a bit over a hundred, so it evidently varies. $400+ is nuts for a key blank

Just spotted another orig 348 folding key blank for $110 through ebay, scooped it up to cut as a spare. Based off of what I've seen actually sell, the $100-200 range is the nominal market.

The couple listings that have been languishing in the $300-$400 range for the past half year at least are pretty funny.

They're not. At least not the ones I've seen.

Didn't someone replicate these folding keys awhile ago? I can imagine that the rare OE items would be pricey but a repro... maybe not as much.

Not that I am aware. There were some non folding keys with a chrome cavallino on an oval finger pad, but they dont look anything like the original folding key.

Oh neat, wasnt aware of those. I guess I'll scrutinize the key when it arrives. It certainly wasn't listed as anything other than oe Ferrari, so we'll see.

I bought a few for $90, suspect they are reproductions, but work and look great.

I pulled out a few examples from my storage. In the close up photo, the OEM keys are in the middle and on the left. The one on the right is most likely a repro, which I bought through eBay in 2015 for $128.

Also, the OE keys use roll pins whereas the other has a solid pin.

Key showed up, pics below. Arrived from Sigma Moulders in Scarborough, Ontario. I believe that it is a newly molded key, not new old stock, based off of that. Not sure if they supply commercially for factory replacements, but it is 99.99% dead nuts to my original key, save for the lack of original licensed manufacturer's mark (expected, of course) and tiny difference in some of the very fine cavallino features (v minor differences in the silhouette of the mane), however oe production cavallino artwork has been known to vary from licensed mfg to licensed mfg of the same p/n regardless, so can't knock that as a mark against it.. Original style roll pin is used as well, as seen below. Based off of that, I don't see any need for spending another couple hundred for an identical but 199x molded blank.

    Really nice.

It's great to see "OE Restoration" parts, just like aftermarket support for so many US classics and muscle cars/trucks.

I purchased one 2 years ago but it is not genuine. These are no longer made or stocked. As mentioned earlier, the give away is the roll pin in them. That is how I know mine is non-genuine. They do however look identical apart from this. From memory mine was just approx $150(USD)

I was just going through my desk the other day and found two of these uncut folding keys. From the descriptions about they are the non OEM ones but they are 99.9% exactly like my 348 originals. They have the solid roll pin and no markings on the edges. If you need one contact me, I need money more then I need these sitting around. :)

Sigma Cars sold these as OEM for a long time... They are not.
