Thanks. The original owners name is (Italian), a resident of San Francisco metro area. The parts I would trade for would be to fit 250 PF coupe. I do not need many items, but do need a pair of extruded aluminum rocker panel deco strips that attach to the lower edge of the body below the doors. An original hood (engine lid or bonnet) - complete or just the frame possibly. I will consider parts I do not need as well. PF coupes 1147 GT and 2023 GT are in my care.

    just saw this on BAT:
    Ferrari Other GTE | eBay

the listing says its from 3403GT.

    The ad description:
1962 Ferrari Series II 250 GTE Body

This body is from serial number 3403 and is being sold on a bill of sale. It was the 112thof 350 Series II GTE’s built. It was originally delivered in Switzerland and was last known as a running and driving car in Switzerland in 2006. According to Pinninfarina the body was manufactured in 1962 and fitted to chassis GTE 3403 GT at that time it was fitted with Series III taillights even though it was a Series II car. The current location of the drivetrain is unknown, parts of the original frame and chassis are still attached to the car, please view all detailed pictures what you see in pictures is all we have. All glass looks good, windows roll up and down, regulators are in good working condition. Worldwide shipping is available and we do have import papers from 2006. Multiple uses for this body and it maybe the last time you ever see a 250 series Ferrari body in this price range. Please view all 76 pictures before asking questions.

This guy bought it a couple of years ago from another Texan who was asking $22,500 for at least two years. He is now asking $38,000. Lot of money if you still have to find a chassis, engine and interior. Of course, if you HAVE those...

Does the part of the chassis still attached contain the chassis number? If so that is why it sold so quickly ... somebody has just bought themselves enough to legitimize a replica as a "real" Ferrari, ie. built on 3403GT so can be registered as an old Ferrari.

The rest will be scrapped ...

Chassis number is not with the car. I identified it for the seller (and the seller before that) by the Pininfarina numbers on the body. It sold to someone who is going to make a Hot Rod with it, but I do not know who yet.

Lot of money for a Hot Rod, but as it was unliklely to ever be rebuilt as a GTE, why not?
The crime , seperation of engine, chasis , running gear, is long past I assume?
Lets hope it's new incarnation is cool and fast !

Okay, this is where we separate the purists from the pragmatists; realizing, of course, we all fall someplace on the spectrum between the poles. The picture attached shows one extreme of GTE 're-purposing'.

He clearly stated the asking price in the ad. I don't intend to reproduce his ad here, nor do I intend to let this thread evolve into a discussion over the item he has for sale. Follow the link, read the ad for yourself, and then post any response in that thread.

Ok, fair point but if somebody does have one of these (and is not a seeking to trade) a list of the paint colours, backed up by photgraphs would be of great use to the GTE community.
    Anybody out there ?
