Im using valvoline 20/50 VR1 Racing Oil has correct amount of zinc.
I'm only aware of the table showing different properties, zinc and phosphorus for the Mobil 1 product line. A similar table for the current other brands would be helpful. I'd be willing to combine the info from several manufacturers in an excel table, if I could get my hands on it. While we're in the 'hood, has the search tool here always been limited to a single word. No AND or OR capability? I don't like to start new threads knowing the info is in old threads, but searching on "oil" or "leather" or "bumper" doesn't zero in on what I need. I notice "TheSamba" ( VW stuff ) has gone over to Google search right on its site, very efficient. Ideas? Thanks, GF
Found they still have "pre-Titanium" Castrol Syntec 5W-50 at a nearby AutoZone. Has the magic words "classic cars" on the front and "flat tappet engines" on the back. They say they have 20 quarts in the back + can get more. If I wait till May I can get a free oil filter with each 5 quarts, so I'll wait a few days and score some Bosch filters for the lesser cars in the stable. So looks like I won't have to switch to something different till the next next oil change. But I gotta figure AZ is just selling out its stash ... Castrol/BP isn't making this one anymore.
