From a thread back in 2007 in the 612 forum area, the following contact info was found. I've seen the install done by these folks in a car I once owned and the new owner wanted an upgrade. It was first class looking. Can't attest to the sound , but the equipment they used was certainly top notch.

"I would suggest you call Scott at la Jolla Audio in La Jolla at 858-581-6545"

and here's their web site link: San Diego Car Stereo Shop / Audio System / Installation / Bluetooth Hands Free Kit / GPS Navigation / Ipod Install - La Jolla Audio

Thanks for the input, I am currently gathering info, but once I proceed will post the result as this car deserves a great sound system:), I would hope that Ferrari offers this in the future, perhaps with partnership with bang & olufsen, burmester, Harman Kardon, Bose etc etc

The premium audio in FF (and 458, f12) is branded JBL which is a Harman Industries brand. Harman Industries also sells its kit under the brand names of Harman Kardon, Becker, AKG Acoustics, Mark Levinson, Lexicon and Infinity. How much input Harman Industries had in designing the system, who knows, some may speculate it's just a promotional licensing fee paid by Harman to Ferrari to have their name associated with the car.

BMW have B&O branded audio kit - however it's all made by Lear Corporation.

White labelling seems to be the current model for in car audio. As to who pays who between vehicle brand and audio brand and for what, unclear. It is clear that the JBL branded FF / F12 / 458 kit is not amazing and doesn't represent its option price either as stand alone or as compared to certain other in car branded sound systems.

Kevin from Audio Illusions in Calabasas does lots of Ferrari (458, etc) audio upgrades.

Did mine (it already came with the premium option) with Reus Systems - had all of my previous 3 cars done with them - very very good and if you change your car, they will return it back to stock for a small fee which they have also done for me. Sound quality is impeccable. Advise that you listen to a couple if you can (Visalia is s long way from OC though!) and then make a decision - audio choice is very personal.
    Cheers,
    Sam

Excellent information in this thread and this post really says it all. The only one thing I would point out is while its true the bang for the buck isn't there for the upgraded factory system, if you were to attempt to replicate it after market, you will spend at least 2x (more likely 3x) that amount and the results would maybe be a little better. Its possible but very difficult and expensive to do a really great system in a Ferrari.

I believe you can achieve twice the performance of the premium oem system through quality install, proper staging tuning and quality aftermarket equipment. For 1.5 the cost of the upgraded premium oem system.

The factory upgraded system blows, the worst.

I have the upgrade system in my F12 - defintley NOT worth the money and i find myself very much satisfied listening to the exhaust notes instead (hour after hour)

my FF is stock with no upgrade and i can say is utter rubbish - i will not opt for the premium system in my new FF; I will have a full blown aftermarket system installed - by whom, i have yet to research and decide

    Exactly,

Except listening to a exhaust is wonderful for people who don't drive often or are not board with it, it's nice for sure, just not constantly. I can't stand it hour after hour.

I'm doing the same thing, if I come up with something I'll pm ya

Pretty good all things considered, I feel 100X better than 6-7 years ago. I can drive, fly now. Can't sit in coach for more than 4-5 hours, but that's ok.

Life is good, I need a Zonda and LaF tho😀

I just had audison speakers put in along with an alpine amp under the seat - I wanted to keep the oem head unit. sounds much better but I getting a bit of a hiss which I need to get sorted out. kind of crazy you need to rip out the oem stereo in a 400k car but so be it.
