They were able to give me a couple of folders stuffed with documents from the challenge team and Tom still had a couple of needed parts off my car. What a great find! I was very happy coming to see them. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
We headed out to dinner to meet up with Tom Jackson (the original mechanic on my challenge car during the '98 challenge season for a reunion. Great stories about everything. I learned tricks of the trade and the amount of money it cost back then to go racing. Try $25,000+ per race weekend per driver... Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Pity I didn't see this earlier! FCI is who I purchased my car from 3.5 years ago (they actually sold it new back in 98). Keith is my guy there...Casey (their head FCAR tech) is a great mechanic. If you saw a 355 GTS there it was probably mine...I'm waiting for it to be shipped to me out to Utah.
Great pics Rob. Brings back good memories. I bought my car from an FCI employee, and Tom Jones at SA PPI'd it for me. He was very patient, putting up with me looking over his shoulder for most of the day. My car was also sold new from FCI back in '98. Great bbq in NC too.
Bbq tonight... but for a quick lunch, hard to beat Chick-fil-A on its home turf. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Met up with Daniel and his crew after lunch... Cool to finally see where they do business. He is a real stand-up guy. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
I hope you're paying for everyone's meals along the way. Remember the karma-thing. Great thread buddy. Safe trip, Henry
Awesome to see this, Robb. Please post a few more pics of the guys and surroundings at Ricambi if you have. I've been ordering all the Hill Engineering stuff for my 348 Nero lately from Daniel.
Aaron's Lotus. It looked nice and I liked the interior feel. I'd add the track only version to the garage. Bet it handles sublimely... Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Robb, Awesome. Thanks. I always imagined more of a warehouse surrounding, but on the inside - the Ricambi office almost looks like an interior of the house. Very cool.
I was just in NC making my way from Charlotte to race at VIR then back to Charlotte. What a fantastic part of the country. People are so nice. When not racing I was on the hunt for Carolina bar-be-que. I stopped in to Lexington Bar-be-que and had a great meal sitting at the counter talking to the staff...where we from what we doing etc. Wife and I could not eat another bite and the waiter told us we had to try the peach cobbler! OMG that Peach Cobbler was fantastic. We go to pay the bill and the cobbler is missing. Waiter says "Oh No that's my treat. You folks have a great stay in our area." We got this kind of treatment all week from all kinds of places. NC is super friendly.
