Cars & Coffee is kicking off this Saturday!
Starbucks @ City View, 9791 Vista Way, Garfield Heights, OH
(This is the complex right off 480 at Transportation Blvd - one exit East of the 480/77 interchange).
We meet the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of May-October, Rain or Shine
~ 830am-1030am - come and leave whenever you want!

May I remind everyone:
Cleveland Cars & Coffee is an informal, not-for-profit, fun gathering of exotic/sports/classic car owners and respectful enthusiasts.
No advertising, no flyers, no boring cars, and no burnouts.

Also – we are asking that for this year the ‘upper’ parking lot above the Starbucks be reserved for exotic and specialty cars.
While we invite all car enthusiasts to attend, we’d like to save good parking for the cars which we are all coming to see.

 

Are there any Meraks in the Cleveland area, or in Ohio for that matter? Just Wunderin!

Hi George,

My friend Rick U. on the west side of Cleveland owns a '75 Merak, red with gray interior. He has had it since the late 1990s, and takes the car to a lot of events, car shows, and cruise-ins.

There used to be -- about 15 years ago -- another red Merak in Cleveland with the license plate MSRATI.

Someone recently -- about a year or two ago -- told me of another red Merak (other than Rick's) that was then currently on the west side - not sure if it was the same one as the MSRATI plate or not.

The Crawford Auto Museum used to own one, but I think it was sold about ten years ago; maybe I am wrong and someone will correct me.

I am just trying to spread the word and I'm hoping you will pass the word along. The Merak Group has two websites and a YouTube channel. All three are easily found by just Googleing "Merak Group". Of the 2 websites, one is a Merak dedicated site with tons of information, downloads, product information, and more. The other website is a Merak registry with almost a quarter of all the Meraks ever produced registered from all over the world.

My Merak is not roadworthy yet for a 1400 mile round trip, but is close to it. Soon, a Merak road trip to Cleveland should be in place. Maybe by late summer, maybe in conjunction with Keenland.

I have visited your wonderful website. In the younger days of my youth, I used to visit the Twinsburg and Hudson areas as they were a wonderful escape from the city. Yes, you know the one.

Please do pass on the word about the Merak Group to the new owner. We currently have approx. 50 owners in our Group with many resident gurus in the ranks. We strive to provide all means of informational support for the Merak through our website.
