#29 is listed as "Carpet - trunk side bottom", and even though the drawing only shows one piece the table lists a right and left part number. In looking back at the 1974 and 1976 manuals, no such item is mentioned. It seems to show up for the first time in 1979, although the 1979 Table 108 calls out different part numbers for USA through 1977 vs. 1978 and later. One other new addition in the 1979 carpet drawing is P/N 33 (60576700), which appears to be a piece of molding that holds the top of the rear wall carpet in the middle. The other new item that first shows up in the 1979 diagram is the radio antenna, and the vinyl cover that goes over the antenna motor.
Thanks! Anyone with a '79-'80 US GT4 who could check his trunk for #29 and #33? #28 is also specific for US cars, haven't seen this part on EU GT4s.
Hi Adrian As per you post no 153. I have look at at my carpets and I don't have no 42. Mine is a Uk RHD 1977 yr model. I replace the original ones many yrs ago and used them as template for the one I have now. Looking back I shouldn't have thrown the old ones away now we are all wanting original. Keep up the good work. Also just changed my carb jetting as per you recommendations .55 idle 140 main 190 air correction. Pulls really well no mid throttle hesitance Though a bit high on hydrocarbons at idle, does need a good run. Gavin
Gavin, 42 is US cars only as it seems, different number than the chart i was looking at though. Happy to hear that the carb jetting worked out nicely! Best, Adrian
Quick question, could you have a look at the carpet piece which is mounted in the trunk on the rear side (number plate, rear lights) of the car. Does your carpet has two folds as in the picture? If so, can you please post the year and delivery (US or EU) of your GT4? Thanks, Adrian Image Unavailable, Please Login
Adrian, My car (208 GT4 #12252 from 1976) has the folds. Still don't know how it should be originally be fixed to the car though.
Thanks! So this is a Series 2 208 GT4 delivered to Italy? Could you post a photo of the carpet above in situ? Cheers, Adrian

Very interesting! We compared my GT4 trunk compartment (flat, no folds, carpet not original) with the trunk of Markus 308 GT4, he also has a flat non original carpet. It looks like it was a standard approach to get rid of the folds when replacing the carpet. Question, is the aluminum sheet shown on the right side mounted on top of the rear braces/strutting in the luggage compartment? I can't find this sheet in the spare part manuals, it's also missing in my GT4.
I must have a closer look at the non original carpet in my car. I guess it was replaced when it had a refit and engine rebuild in 89/90. I am in contact with the then owner so can check - if he remembers. Need toi cédera the boot first. Currently full of cans of oil, antifreeze and loads of cleaning stuff!
The company handling the coating of the carpet backside misunderstood the briefing and coated the first sample with a type of hot glue used for automated factory installations (see photo). We asked to change it into a thicker non glue carpet backside and are waiting for the next sample. Will also do some first carpet pieces based on the original shape pattern to see how it looks like. Am I too late to order a set for a 1974 Euro GT4, the car is currently "Resale Red" with a black interior. The original build colour was Azzuro Cielo 28.A.547 with Blue hide / Blue cloth with Blue carpets. I would like to trim the Boot /Trunk with the Beige / Black carpet if it is still available.
I have the full details from Tony Willis who has the Maranello Concessionairs Archive. Chassis No 09572 Engine No 684 Gearbox No 688 Body No 600 Thank you for the reply Regards Philip Roberts
