It looks like the cam cover gasket is made from different material. Are there any markings on that?

Those are the markings on the cam and distributer base gaskets. They may look different because they are darker on one side.

I have placed several orders over the past few weeks and all have been delivered super quick and well packaged. My only issue and this is from various companies is that if you place the order on line they never confirm the cost of P & P upfront. I now call then and agree costs prior to the order.

This was my issue, ordered parts and a couple showed up, one wrong and no sign of the other asked and was told it is on back order. They need to let the customer make the decision about placing the order, not just place some of the order ship it and then say other parts are on back order with no knowledge of when the part will be back in stock. This is completely unacceptable business practice and they have wrong parts while showing right picture. I'm done with them.

This is exactly my issue too. If you place an order, its just fingers crossed that everything arrives and that the parts are what you ordered. Maybe unlucky, but there has been an issue with everyone of my orders since spring 2014. The last order I placed was the final straw, I'm done with them!! To bad, they used to do a good job.

I have good experience with Superformance but feel Eurospares has more to offer, for me at least. They also offer a complete online parts catalogue for each model. Easy to use with original drawings and part numbers.

Super quick shipping is one of their strong sides. Price wise they are about the same as Superformance.

I have not ordered from overseas before. Are items delivered direct without going through Customs or a customs broker?

I agree 100% Eurospare has probably the best spare part website out there but unfortunately a lot of items are much pricier than the same at Superformance.
Usually start to check my part at Eurospare and evenutally ended up ordering at Superformance.

My own company is based in the UK and most of our customers are in the USA. Our shipping works in the same way as Superformance. I can say that not once in 15 years of trading, sending around 30 packages per day to the US, have I ever heard of any of our US customers being charged any import tax or fees.

This is not the case in other countries of course but the US seems to embrace the spirit of free trade more than other countries.

Always found Eurospares shipping charges (even within the UK) prohibitive. They do break quite a lot of cars though I think.

I just use the main parts warehouse at www.ferrariparts.co.uk . All the parts diagrams are on there & its where Eurospares et al get all their new parts anyway. (That & the fact that its 10 minutes from my house :D )

Where SP are good is that they make some stuff & they also carry some stuff that's NLA (+ a mixture of Hill engineering & other bits).

I ordered a replacement service record book from Superformance UK @ midnight on Tuesday night (My service book is full so I needed a new book to continue the service history).

Thursday, I came home from work to find a note from the post office to say they have a parcel for Me that they couldn't deliver as it was too big for My letter box!

I was a bit baffled because the book should easily be able to fit through My letterbox so I collected it on Friday and found that it had been wrapped very carefully in cardboard and a "Jiffy bag", so it was too big! (Not complaining BTW, I was impressed by the care taken to protect the book).

So far I have been impressed by all of the Ferrari specialists I have dealt with (to be fair though, so far I've had no issues that needed sorting out. That is when a good company really makes it mark, in how it deals with a problem).

I would say that the best suggestion when looking for a part/book or whatever is to check out all of the suppliers first before committing to a purchase as prices can vary sometimes, otherwise, so far so good! :)

You can receive them directly but you'll probably get a bill for duty along with it.

Bought thousands of $ from them, most great but not all. Had to return many that were incorrect, and from the USA that gets expensive. It is AMAZING that in today's webspace that a prominant seller such as them would have such inadequate photos of the items you are buying. Absolutely ridiculous not to have multiple angles with clear photos of the exact items you are buying.

The Germans started a thread documenting the poor items from several suppliers:

I've ordered parts from Superformance for many years; everything from wheels, ss exhaust, replacement expansion tank, misc trim etc. Quality has always been first class, great prices and quick shipping. I just placed an order for heater levers two weeks ago. Delivery took 4 days and were way less expensive than elsewhere.

Agreed and at time of ordering you know whether it is in stock whereas with SP you don't know until you have paid.

Eurospares are resellers for the original worldwide source Ferrariparts.co.uk and use the same online parts drawings. They do have a few alternative parts and are good for secondhand parts if they happen to have what you need from a scrap car.

The most annoying aspect of Eurospares is that they list parts as available when they are not. This is because when a genuine Ferrari part is ordered they have to get it from Ferrariparts.co.uk if they dont have it in stock and their online system does not know if its available there or there or not.

Superformance have a completely different business model. They stock very few genuine parts and focus on researching alternatives. In fact they provide an invaluable service because their parts can be substantially cheaper although they are often identical to the Ferrari part except for the box with horses on it.

When I ordered a set of 16" wheels (well worth it, IMO, if you have the 390 mm wheels that only accept the prohibitively expensive TRX tires), I received a notice that my order was at the post office. I was concerned that the import fees might be high, but they weren't. No need to go through a customs broker, and the overall cost was still far less than buying the wheels from a U.S.-based middleman.

For smaller, less costly items like their OEM leather manual pouch (< $100 from Superformance.co.uk!) and various badges and a key chain, the items came directly to my mailbox with no import duty attached.

I love Superformance for their prices, stock of parts that are difficult to find elsewhere, great communication, and fast shipping even from England.

My only complaint is that a number of items I would like to buy have been "currently on manufacturer back order" for ever!
