Love them all!
Just changing to those wheels she looks 10x better then a 2015 991 carrera. Actually even with the stock star wheels she looks 9.5x better then a 2015 991 carrera
Agree with most comments. Design is definitely timeless, and I see the front of the new McLaren cars and the Porsche 918 as very similar to that of the 360. Not a big fan of the star fish wheels either. Spider is the best looking convertible ever. JMHO
I just bought a 360. I was not a big fan when it was introduced. I felt it looked a little 'jellybean' and plasticky so i bought a 355. I think it was just the huge jump in design language that initially had me not living the 369. i was just too used to the harder edge design of the 355 and TR. I now love the look of the 360 and I do think its pretty timeless (other than those headlight as has been mentioned).
I actually like the look of the headlights, I don't think they age the car at all. Now if only they were LED like my R8.....
I don't know. I love the 355, but that front does absolutely nothing for me... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Definitely not the only one. I think the 360 interior is classier than the 430 and those that followed. I think it will age better than the newer ones. The newer dashes just leave me cold, like they belong in a spaceship not a sexy exotic machine. The starfish wheels are a let down on such a beautiful design. I'm not crazy about the headlights either but the newer ones look almost comical. Seems most designers are reading from the same book.
On the headlight discussion, I really feel that the pop-ups on the 355 (while nice) really, REALLY age the car - like 80's decade aging. I'm personally OK with the headlights on the 360. From a technical standpoint, I'm just thrilled that they are Xenon lamps - not something you'd expect from a $200k car without cruise control. So, since they're good technically, I don't spend too much time on their design. I will say that the rubber gasket that surrounds the headlamps is a little bit wimpy - mine tends to deform a little bit when I hit it with my Master Blaster air dryer after a car wash. Also, having the engine under glass on the 360, Ferrari really went to great lengths to beautify it relative to the engine of the 355. Yes, I'd also say that the design of the 360 is timeless - to me personally (and I tell this to other people as they are ogling my 360), there's not a bad line on the car. Actually, there are very few lines on the car - it was styled mostly with curves! F430 wheels do go a long way for the looks and updating the appearance. I'm always on the lookout for a set for mine...
You can switch some of the lights to LEDs now as well as the tail lights, which is what several of us did. There is a thread for that. For example, DIY: Tail Light Upgrade to LED's.
I have seen the thread and will probably go down that road at some point. I was really referring to the car having LED headlights like those on the R8. The actual low/high beam projector like the attached picture (not the rope looking LED). Image Unavailable, Please Login
The car is timeless IMO except for the headlights which are not graceful and do date the car. Love everything else about the car's looks. All in all, one of their best modern cars!
I bet in 15 years we'll be looking back at the 2010+ cars and saying how the LEDs made the headlights look dated. Some other technology will replace the current setup. The big breakthrough seemed to be the projector lights with xenons vs regular halogen IMO.
Yes, Ferrari got it right with the 360, I always felt my 360 coupe had that classic look over my 430 spider, never really like the tail light treatment. MB
I would put it this way, if you could buy a new ferrari coupe with the interior and mechanics of the 488, but the outside styling of a 360, 430, 458 or 488, I think the 360 would be a serious contender.
Hi all, when I bought my 360 2 years ago i was quite keen to ensure it was a fixed head coupe, rosso red, manual, low miles and fortunately found one that included the wing shields, red calipers, stitched dashboard, full tan leather interior with Daytona ('66 Bullit Mustang type button pattern) electric seats. All features that to my mind added to more classic features. Key also (unlike the 430 replacement and every model since, was retaining the 4 rear light lenses within the lines of the rear (Challenge..) grille. I too wasnt sold on the headlight lenses but considered what else could have Ferrari done at the time. LEDs dont look classic and plastice covered light lenses are a bit 'track/retro' i suppose. The dealer said to me 'Phil, eventually the 360 will be seen as the last of the 'classic lined models' - comparable to maybe the Dino all in good time - a side view at door mirror level the 360 silhouette is the only modern Ferrari that fits the classic Dino profile (only IMO maybe but i wouldnt rush out to replace the 360 with a younger model anytime soon) ( the 360 delivers the same horsepower as the (all time classic) 288GTO from 1984 with its twin-turbo - now that would be a find BUT I am nowhere in a position to spend over £1.5 million !! Sorry off-topic for a mo there !!! Cheers
I don't get the negative juju over the lights. They match the car perfectly IMO. I think they look like a manicured fingernail. How else would you have packaged all the lights in there? They are balanced and add to the overall design. From the side they match the engine intake and from the front they match the curves of the voluptuous body panels and mirrors. This is what they are talking about when they say the 360 is a great design, this is what they mean when they say it is timeless. The balanced design is what they are talking about balanced designs age well.
