FF or F12 which one is more comfortable ?

Both are comfy...depends on your needs and how you like the looks.

I personally don't care for the FF but love the F12.

 

Do you need 4 seats?
I do - three children to cart around- means I get to use my FF as a daily driver, something that I couldn't do in the 458 spider I had previously.
The FF is phenomenal - just ask anyone who owns one:0).
If you don't need 4 seats ,I would test drive both and see which one you prefer.I've got a feeling ,as it is your 1st Fcar, that neither will disappoint.

The FF is exceptional for long trips. My wife and I regularly take ours on 850 mile jaunts across the desert southwest, up the Colorado Plateau, and through high mountains. We put the rear seats down and load it with all our gear, then take off. The drive is a mix of fast two-laners, twisties, and Interstates. We arrive refreshed and elated. It is something we look forward to.

 

FF more comfortable and spacious (trunk etc.) I would actually love to add an F12 to the stable as a the more intense extreme racing version. FF is in my opinion the best all around exciting vehicle in the world!

 

I've never driven the FF, but the F12 is the most comfortable exotic I've ever driven, so I'd think you're probably fine either way on that front. To me, the decision would come down to aesthetics and cargo space requirements.

 

Comfortable means if one can drive it with confidence of overdoing anything or risking less going fast then FF is the answer. You have to respect F12 and always moniter tire pressure and temp.

I don't think there is really much to separate them on the driver comfort front, in all honesty. You get more variation in comfort between two F12s with different seats (standard vs. sport) than you will between and F12 and an FF with similar spec.

Driving comfort also depends on fatigue, particularly on longer trips. I think the FF is set up to be notably more laid back than the F12 and I think that makes a difference when you're cruising. There is no doubt that the noise, the engine, the suspension and the steering of the F12 do tend to keep you quite busy in the cockpit, and the FF is just enough more mellow that it could make a difference on a long jaunt.

But for a first Ferrari, I'd have a hard time passing up the F12. Very hard.

 

I own both and enjoy driving the F12 just to drive it. I feel the FF is more comfortable. I do tend to drive it almost everyday. The FF is a bit more tamed.

 

I personally find the seats in the F12 to be a bit firm... Do the FF seats offer more padding?

Generally speaking, both cars are equally comfortable. F12 suspension is firmer, setup is edgier whereas FF is tuned a bit differently Neither are "cushy" cars. Both have enough power and capability to entertain, and both are also good as DD/GT cars.

Bumpy road setting helps a lot.

Have driven both on long road trips. We spec'd our F12 with racing seats, the FF with standard seats. Some folks may find Daytona or Diamond finish affects their "comfort". Said otherwise, the single biggest "comfort" difference is likely the choice of seats. I find the racing seats awesome for long drives, but I know others find them painful.

FF has a bit more practicality, the F12 is a weapon with decent boot space. In our personal case (YMMV) the FF is a keeper as the combination of 4 seats and the capability of the 4RM make the car all the better. Speciale fills almost every void the F12 did other than the V12 sound.

 

I have a craving for a bit more stiffness setting in the FF suspension and a bit more aggressiveness in the transmission, not all the time but on occasion when we really want to rock and roll. I mentioned this to my dealer who said, "order an F12."

I think this about sums it up.

But I do crave for a little bit more body control on the FF however, at times even at the default setting the body still kind of wobble a bit.

Sorry to hijack your thread but i'm having a similar dilemma to you, so i hope you don't mind.

I'm about to a order a FF in the UK for production late this year. I love the way the car drives and i know that the package of practicality, engine, 4RM etc will make it a joy to own.

However, i LOVE the looks of the F12 and if i'm being selfish, it's what i'd buy. I think in the flesh its the best looking Ferrari for many years and although i haven't driven one yet, i know its a beast. What bothers me is that if I buy the FF, i will still hanker after the F12. Trouble is, i'll do 6000 miles a year in the FF and maybe 3000 in the F12 as i'll need the rear seats half the time.

In an ideal world i'd buy both, but that isn't an option(in the near term at least!).

Basically my head says FF and my heart says F12.

Help!

 

I am surprised that no one has mentioned leg room for those that are slightly taller.

In the F12 I have the seat all the way back and wish it would go another 5cm. In the FF I am not even close to all the way back.

Other than that it comes down to space. We're in Italy now with the FF for 10 days had plenty of space to comfortably and quickly get here.

 

a guy on the board who has a bunch of Ferrari drives his f12 daily and he said its twitchy and not all that comfortable - he said the FF is the better daily driver but he cldnt get past the looks. so if u care more about the ride and usability than the looks then FF is way to go, if u care about the opposite then f12 - I for one don't think either are terribly pretty so for me its the FF

 

I posted previously above, but perhaps a few additional thoughts

FF and F12 are very different platforms; the FF is a GT, the F12 is more of a sports car in GT clothing - as I stated, it's edgier in setup. It has to be, else 740hp RWD would be marginally controllable.

As Noblesse Obligue states, there are times when it would be good to have the FF a bit edgier; to that end, there are some minor aftermarket tweaks that can be considered.

In terms of "commuting" in these cars - sort of depends on the person and the road. I would probably find a daily commute, in traffic, on highways, to be a misapplication of these cars unless you really enjoy it.

My wife's "school run" with our girls is 25 miles of 2-lane, twisty roads - the FF is her choice. If I have to slog to a meeting in NYC, I"m more likely to take the Fiat. When we road trip, the FF and the F12 were equally great, FF just more versatile.
