the radiator fan stopped turning on after a loud noise in the front end of the car was heard. Tested fan directly and it works. Ordered a relay replaced and fan still does not come on. Also, the passenger side fan now is not turning on. Does anyone know what else could be wrong?

the 360 (and maybe others) has a really, really STOOPID design, the fan sensor is up high in the radiator, if you are low on fluid it wont activate the fans just when you need them the most. Really aggravating 1,100 miles from home in 105 degree temps, topped it off and the fans started working again.

Check your fluid level, of course if you heard a loud noise then it likely is something else.

Check the fluid filler cap, mine was leaking thus no pressure in the system, hence the same symptoms as yours, new cap job done.

System is complicated enough. There's a two-stage thermostat, then a relay then the fans. I understand the thermostat and relay are reasonably well-known failure items and I've seen it recommended that they be replaced as a pair.

If you're not overly comfortable with auto electrics a regular auto electrician should be able to test and diagnose each component pretty easily and cheaply.

You have checked fuses I presume?

I noticed temps were high in my 360 recently (i.e. past mid-line), while sitting in traffic, so I figured something was up.

Did some reading, and figured out that the left side (driver side) radiator fan was not coming on, no matter what the water temp was.

Fan fuses and relays were fine. Pressure tested the cooling system and no leaks.

Turned out it was the fan switch for the left side fan, which is located behind the right side fan.

when the engine's just turned off hot(100 c), and you turn the key to "on" position
is the fan supposed to be on for a brief period of time or just off?

Since these cars are mostly summer driven in high temps, has anyone attempted a bypass (jumper wire) across the relay (#87 & 30 pinsperhaps) to run the fans manually in an emergency when far from home?
