Guess they gotta charge heavy if my deisel fluid stuff supposed to cover so many damn things lol. I just figured it takes like a minute to do this. In the grand scheme of things I know it's not that bad.

I'm just used to the mom and pop shops. The one by my house is so unbelievably fair I pay them more than what they charge. A few times my work truck had a few small issues that took them 5 mins and I didn't get charged a penny. I insisted on paying at least $20. They got my buisness for life. Too bad they don't MB or anything higher end

Had a customer take his Lexus back to the dealer for a recall, some kind of fuel rail gasket. About a week before he took it we we did a full tune up on and few other minor things. He informed the dealer that all this had been done except for the recall part.

During the process of performing the recall, the Lexus mechanic snapped the electrical terminal off number 5 injector. The tech tried to blame us for braking it even though the car ran fine before they took it apart. The dealer told him how awful we are as a shop and that we shouldn't be working on Lexus products etc.

The customer brought the car back to us, fully knowing that it wasn't our fault, but wanted us to fix it rather them them. We repaired it and the customer returned to Lexus to give them the bill. They said no way they were paying because they didn't break it. Well it turns out, the customers son has a dash cam, and was recording the entire time the car was in the service bay. You can hear the tech say "oh **** I broke it" a couple of times in the recording. He showed this to service manager, they cut him a cheque for the full amount on the spot.

Not only did this cost them more money because they had to pay our bill but they lost him and 5 of his friends as customers. They now come to me.

It worked out great for you in the end but only because of that camera.
Btw, Russians have a habit of putting dash cameras in their cars to protect themselves legally in case of accident.
Works in other situations too, like you just described.
    I have to get one.....
