Coming off buying a T.R. a few months ago, I've realized that I would like to own a Ferrari that I can just drive. I love the T.R. but I can't think of any car other than the 550 that has a manual V12 and is comfortable around town. That said, does anyone know of any other sites other than the usual ebay/ auto trader /Hemmings where 550's are available for sale?

Is that what they will be asking? I talked to the salesman on Friday and he didn't know.

That is stratospheric. It was sold in Jan. in the $90k territory.

I think that is the market currently. Up 50% over last 6 months. I think low mileage cars will also carry a huge premium.

I was talking to a dealer a few weeks ago mentioning that my 550 was not for sale, then I laughingly said "unless someone offered me $125,000"

    His response was "That's low"

    Funny market conditions.

There was one sold on craigslist O.C. for $85k with 8k miles 2 weeks ago so I know the prices have not gone up in a parabolic way, and the ones on ebay asking >$120k are currently still for sale.

Just because someone gave it away does not make the market.

It seems the market caught up to the importance, unique character and collectibility of the 550. Similar to what just happened to the market for air-cooled 911s.

Current market: 100k for a clean 20-30k mile car, 125k for teen mile examples, 140+ for single digit mile cars. This is what I currently see.. Will be interesting to see where this goes 6 to 12 months from now.

Are youi sure about that single digit price? Sounds awfully aggressive

Relative to the 575 manual that just sold for 225k I think a very low milage 550 in the mid 100 range is a very reasonable figure. I'm referring to a pristine car.

In comparison Testarossa's are well over 100k and not very nice ones at that. They made a ton of those 10,000 or so and I persoanlly think the 550 is 100x better looking and a much better driving car which only leads me to believe the 550 has a very bright future.

to me the 550 is a tremendous value (in the Ferrari world) . It is a true front engine 12cyl GT
with manual transmission with a design that is holding its age very well .. The last of the true analog Ferraris.... I cannot imagine why a 575 manual should be worth double an equivalent 550 and do not believe they will be for long..
