Girodisc is a company dedicated to brake component engineering and development for racing and high performance automobiles. Girodisc primarily produces a line of two-piece replacement rotors for exotic sports cars. All our rotors are manufactured in house from strictly US sourced materials. We also carry brake pads for these same cars in street, club and full race compounds. Welcome to Girodisc -

Thanks for the intro Rob, we’re very excited to be back on Ferrarichat and look forward to helping you all with anything and everything brake related on your Ferrari. Girodisc was founded back in 2003 with our first application being the Ferrari 360 and manufacturing Ferrari rotors still remains our bread and butter.

A large part of our business now is also providing iron replacement rotors for vehicles that originally came with CCM rotors for guys that are really beating on these cars. I’ll elaborate more on this in each of the individual model specific forums with a post outlining all of our offerings for each of the individual applications.

To give you a bit background on myself for those of you who don’t know me, my name is Mike and I’m the sales manager at Girodisc Racing Brakes. I personally have been a member here since 2004 and some of you may know me under the handle michael66899.

I’ve been a racing fanatic my whole life, from the early years watching F1 to bumming rides in racecars at the local racetrack at the Alfa, Ferrari, and Porsche club days well before I had my own license. I went on to study Vehicle Design and Finance at Western Washington University here in Bellingham where I met Martin and his company Girodisc. During my time at Western I became a member of the Formula SAE team and eventually the business director and lead driver for our team. Attached is a picture of the car below. After working with Martin and Girodisc as a sponsor for several years having them machine parts for us I was hired on and have been here ever since.

I now personally have a pair of 348’s which I’ve attached a few pictures of below. The white car is the track rat running our two piece direct replacement front rotors and Raybestos ST43 pads all around. The red car is one I picked up recently with no drivetrain so I’m currently in the process of putting it back together with a new engine and transmission. Keep an eye out in the 348 forum as I’ll have a lengthy write up on the whole process, she’ll remain mostly stock other than some wheels, exhaust and our brake components for the time being.

I’m really looking forward to working with you all on here and providing as much knowledge as possible. When it comes to braking systems knowledge is power and there are far too many people that lack the knowledge surrounding some of the basic principles which can be detrimental to both performance and your wallet. We hope to change that a hopefully sell some product in the process.

    Forza Ferrari!

Welcome, Mike, from a very satisfied customer.

I have a set of your rotors on my Exige with CL-RC6 pads. Couldn't be happier with them. Superior cooling, lower rotating mass, and nowhere near as prone to cracking as the stock drilled rotors. And no more brake fade towards the end of the day.

Welcome to the forum Mike. I am going to be changing my stock pads in the near future when I update my wheels and tires in the near future to the 430 Challenge wheels on my 03 Modena 360. What pads do you suggest for a non track car? What is the ave. life span of the new pads as compared to stock? Are their any issues with the new pads as to excess dust or noise when compared to Ferrari pads?

Thanks for the kind words! Our Lotus products sold through our good friends at Sector 111 have been extremely successful over the years, a great alternative to the OEM counterparts.

If you plan to use the car only on the street and are looking for a pad with similar performance to OEM but with less dust and less noise our 'Magic Pads' are a fantastic option that do just that.

Keep an eye out in the 360/430 section for a write up I'm putting together highlighting all of our products for the specific models as well.
