Maybe it's not a new question, but which colors do you like more on a 3x8 GTB/GTS? (no GT4, please) My preferences are, in descendng order: Rosso Corsa (racing red), Argento Nurburgring (silver), Grigio Ferro (gunmetal), Giallo Fly (yellow), Bianco Avus (white), Blu sera, Azzurro, Oro chiaro (light Gold), Marrone Colorado (brown), Nero Tropicale (black). ciao
Well...as you put Black at the end of the list, and one of my two cars is Black, and as my favorite color is not even in the list (Prugna), I guess I shall pass on that poll... Rgds
Rossa Corsa, Azzuro, Argento, Grigio, Giallo, Bianco, Marrone, Oro, Nero. I've never seen a Blue Sera in person.
come on, Bruno, everyone has his own taste, so what I like maybe sucks someone else and viceversa. I did not put all the colors: rare colors, like prugna, canadian orange and so on, are not considered. A 208/308/328 GTB/S looks great with any color: we are just talking about which ones we prefer. ciao
I know it's not "correct" but I've always wondered what one would like in Rossa Scuderia. I LOVE that color on the 458 GTB's.
Well, at least we know for "Rosso Barchetta", as "Flashman" has a 2-valve injected GTS in that color, (Original from the factory, but on special order) which I find very, very nice... Rgds
They look great in any colour, but if I was looking for another I would be searching for an off colour, perhaps one of the blues. Wow, this is a new one http://ferrari-collection.net/color/ladygappg.jpg
Well...speaking about Green, I have always had trouble with "verde Germoglio", but one of my best friends absolutely loves it. On the other hand, I am truly a fan of "Prugna", that some other people do not like, so... Rgds
For me it's yellow/black for the GTB and the old classic red/tan for the GTS (and it has to have black a pillars and RED fender vents, not that stupid black rattle can paint job some owner did to it back in the middle 80's after the US QV's came out) But that is just my opinion.
I'm with Papa G, mostly- for me it would be Rosso Corsa (because it's a Ferrari & I like red anyway); next, Azzuro California (metallic sky blue), and Grigio Metallico (gunmetal). Lots to choose from, but I keep coming back to those particular colors, which always catch my attention more than the others when I see them on the road or wherever. Of course many, many cars are done in gunmetal but not so many in the metallic sky blue... I remember older Vespas, TR-3's and of course Healys in that color. Terrific! I understand that many owners want to play down their ride- visually-but then again if that's the idea maybe a Ferrari isn't the very best choice for being inconspicuous, no matter the color. My own 328 GTS is Rosso Corsa. Cheers, Rich
I'll always be a yellow/black GTB guy but I can go maronne/tan on a GTS but with my same GTS rules and not be too upset
Gunmetal, especially with a red interior, just shows the 308 lines off so well. Also, I like black on US QV 308s, since the black hides the black vents and kind of hides the ugly black US bumpers.
Azzuro California. Yes, Gus. I still want yours. Blue Chiaro Bianco - no Avus. Not sure Avus was available on 3x8's. Mine is just Bianco.
Seems to me it's what ever color makes your pulse rate go faster. For me Rosso Corsa with tan interior followed by the more rare Black Metallic with tan interior, with Silver/maroon interior coming in third.
I loove Rosso Corsa. When I think "Ferrari", I think red. I have thought such since the long-ago days of being a hotblooded teen. The only time I hate Rosso Corsa is when I am at a car meet with a bunch of other red cars. Next choice would be yellow; I just like it. I look at any parking lot and see a sea of black, grey and white; those are the colors I don't like for Italian cars. I have a, err,"German Racing Silver" BMW, which I've owned for 20 years and it kind of bugs me how popular the color has become.
I'm proudly the only voter for Oro Chiaro On the opposite end of the scale, I really have a problem with Giallo Fly. Imo it detracts massively from the styling and matches with no interior, unless you want to drive a bee
They all look good...but Prugna Metallica is the best.... Edit: Here's a link to some pics of a car that color: Classic Italian Cars For Sale » Blog Archive » 1985 Ferrari 308GTS Quattrovalvole
The poll is a good idea! Every once in a while it's informative to have a list of other colors that nearly nobody realizes were used on Ferrari's! In every conversation I have ever had about cars, when it came up that I owned a Ferrari someone always asks, "It's red, right?" Folks here know that Ferrari offered a prune-colored car but nobody in the real world does!
I've always been partial to black, but I'm really gravitating to blue these days. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Blu sera. It would be really, really, really hard to turn down a nice 308/early 328 GTS in this color.
