Last speciale?

Seems that they are winding down production but I have heard of another being made after the fall break. It will be a 2016. They must have decided to make a few more slots or they ramped up the Aperta builds for the summer and need to finish off a few promised coupes later on.

 

James May getting the last Speciale came up briefly on another thread, and I think the consensus was nobody believed he would really be able to arrange this if it happens then it's just a fluke IMHO.

 

Anyone know if there is any RHD Apertas avail? I have a friend really looking for one.

A couple available with huge premiums.......

 

I know someone with an Aperta build in September. Is it confirmed by anyone legitimate that any cars built after the August shutdown will be 2016 models?

 

I've been told mine will be the last one my dealer delivers mid July - I'm in the UK, also it sounds like the US cars will be the true last Speciales?

 

Mine is still Stage 10 with two dealer cars still behind me. I can't see them finishing up anytime soon.

 

He got the "last" car that his dealer had an allocation for.. so the story goes. As you can see at the factory, they are still building plenty of 458 spiders, speciales and apertas.. this will continue for many months.. New Speciale orders are still being accepted. Not sure why this keeps coming up as a hot topic. There are still order being accepted and new cars being built.. don't expect this to stop anytime this calendar year.

I'm picking up my Speciale on Saturday. It was the last Speciale allocation that my dealer received.

 

You can tell people you "got the last Speciale made"...like James May. LOL

 

It will be a 2016 model. In the US, that doesn't mean that it will necessarily be made in the year 2016, just that it is built to the specs and certified for that years regulations.

The allocations that I have heard of in the US for Speciale are done. If anyone hears of others being allocated, feel free to post that info.

 

A friend of mine just got an allocation for the Speciale A last week. September build.

I also have a slot for the last 2weeks of September 2015.
I believe that this is the last month for the Speciale.
Factory is shut in August and production on the 488 has already started.
In UK as of Dec 2014 109 Speciales were registered.
I am hoping that there are no more than an additional 50 this year

 

I have a list of most UK speciales...

Currently I have 77 from 2015 and 54 from 2015

 

Does that include the Apertas?

Hi, well this brings me onto my fantastic upcoming website

I have been collecting vins from Speciale's all around the world to have on the website, ONLY the chassis number will be posted, a couple photos of the car (That's found on the internet) and then a location, so say England, Germany or France etc.

That will make the register a lot better, as I know cars get sold and plates get changed which will make it really really hard to track the cars accurately.

Hmmm, I've seen a car that sounds just like that, I think its gone to the Isle of Man

Rosso Dino, could be James May or anybody else who has ordered it in that colour, I know of one UK car so far thats in Rosso Dino and Aperta's arent coming into the UK as fast as I thought they would be, I've only got 6 on the list so far, the first one being registered on the first week of 2015, so that would make once a month, obviously some cars have eluded me so far but I've been able to find UK speciale photos on the web, just not of many Aperta's
