I think that a lot of this week might be like that. I'll be there in the am only.

Ryan, do you know the guy in charge to ask if FCA members can take off earlier than 3 pm?

Not liking this weather forecast. I doubt they can give FCA preferential treatment to leave early though -- they would need to treat everyone the same. The management may need to re-think how they manage this. Owners do need the flexibility to leave when bad weather rolls in.

You mean the guy who hates my guts? Yeah, I know him...

Here's the thing. They are making the 3pm rule a hard and fast rule with no exceptions. These are not car people. They are event organizers. Do not expect them to understand if the weather gets bad. They made that clear last year. I will do what I can but mark is correct: he can't give us preferential treatment. Still, I will see what I can do but no promises.

I got my package and according to the rules, you can leave as long as you get escorted by one of the staff or police. You must request escort at the main tent. As far as weather goes...the forecast changes every day...so far it's scatter rain...but mostly in the evening...and also it could be anywhere not necessarily at the event (knock on wood)

Yes, they need to re-think it all. Maybe start with having the show go until 2:00 instead of 3:00. It's usually dead by 3:00 anyway.

And maybe they need to start being more flexible due to weather but that's harder to manage.

The organizers need to serve the needs of customers (attendees) but they also need to serve the needs of participants (those who bring their cars). If they aren't sensitive to the needs of the participants, they will see less participation. As evidence by the reaction to several guys here.

If I was in town I would probably do the same. Check out the show, maybe even bring the Ferrari, but likely not enter it into the show.

That's good to know. Looks like they are rethinking things.

If the bad weather rolls in, lets hope they have a plan in place for a massive exit!

I gather that's exactly the problem. Not only do they not have one, they're hostile to anyone leaving early due to weather. I plan to bring a car cover and blankets just in case, but if the weather looks crappy from the get go, they'll just get my ugly mug to look at.

All this is one reason that I moved Automezzi to AUGUST.

    (No hail).

Reminder ALL: Automezzi 25th Anniversary is August 16th.

Weather looks good tomorrow but I can't stay there until 3 pm, I'll just come around 10 am as spectator.
Where are you guys going to park? The big parking lot at northside?
