I don't know what number it was but I used to fly a Student Prince occasionally with Larry Blumer at Thun Field in the 60's. I haven't seen Summer Martell in a long time but remember her as a sweet little girl , good pilot too.

    Good blurb on Summer...

Think she's a Gulfstream pilot now, too (from a search).

And now a Lady? I have known Summer from 1984-85 and saw her at Arlington and Evergreen many years ago and she was a sweet little girl then and driven to fly. What a pleasant thing to see her and to know that she is still flying the Student Prince and a lot of oil burners. Bless her heart!

No. IO550 by Lycon. 340 hp a side. Current 520s are Lycon and make 305 a side. 2000 ft rate of climb. Over 200 it's cruise. New motors should do 2500 rate of climb 230 it's cruise.

I like the Decathlon! It does better upside down than mine, but mine can fly a little bit slower...

Citabrias, Decathlons... we're all on the same side in the Champ vs. Cub debate!

Always wanted a V-tail Bonanza... first model plane I built (6 yo) was a 'Beechcraft Banana'.
    But... I'm not a doc, so... :)

Hmmm, didn't the footstep used to retract with the gear?

Cirrus SR22 is the new doctor killer, you're safe buying the V-Tail.

PS: The V-Tail was also one of my first models. It's my dream aircraft.

For once somebody used the correct blue on the fuselage of the PT-19 and a beautiful restoration. I have flown the PT-19 many times in various stages of age and disrepair and NON of them looked that good. I remember the PT-19 as a smooth flying well balanced airplane that required a bit of speed to do some aerobatics and if you didn't have the speed , it could turn on you with a vengeance. A beautiful and nice flying airplane and a machine designed to train students in the idiosyncrasies of the heavier fighters that were coming later in their training. I still liked the Stearman better but both are great fun to fly.
