    Armen,

Is this the converted Canadian spec GTO that was at Porsche of Scottsdale ? If so what is needed to convert the car to US spec. ? I understand that a speedo change from KM to MPH is required but what else ? Just wondering out loud.

BTW your garage is simply outstanding !

Tortesq1- Nothing "needs" to be changed to the Canadian spec GTO as it's a North America build. If you "choose" to convert the instrumentation cluster, you can do so for approx $10K but it entails taking apart the dashboard which I elected not to do on my SA Aperta and the the GTO that is on route to DC! Cheers!

On the on board computer menu for the instrument cluster, can you choose to have the reading in mph vs. km?

Could your friend share any picture of his GTO, and particularly the white one?

Hello all, I want to say thanks for this thread. I've followed it from the beginning. I will never own a GTO, but I like to study. I've spent quite a lot of time studying Porsche, Ferrari, and Bugatti. I think all the GTOs are wonderful. Keep the thread going.

Yes it was the car. Just the speedo needed to be changed. That was it. Period. I asked 100 times and everyone confirmed 100 times. It is now in MPH. Nothing else needed to be changed. It is a North American car.
and thank you for the compliment :)

The digital speed indicator on the display is easily switched between MPH & KPH via the setup menu. The analog speedometer dial obviously remains in the original specification. It is surprising that there would be a statutory requirement in the US to change both, but then again stranger things have happened

She is still looking good and glad to see you are still enjoying the car. Mine will turn 5 on June 20th 2015. She is in for maintenance right now but I'll give her a good birthday run on the 20th ;)

    Cheers,

    M

Goddam time is fast... I remember when you got it. I feel it was yesterday.

It's cool to see the enjoyement you have about that car is always the same if not more trough the years. The GTO really must be a blast.

How much do you have on the clock ?

Well, you know what they say DC: Time flies when you are having fun and I had (have) fun with the GTO. My admiration for the car has been there from day one and continued to grow with every km I've put on the clock. She has just under 23,000 km now.

Just got a call from the dealer that she will be ready for pick up tomorrow. Can't wait.

    Cheers,

    M

Based on my research and validation from Ferrari North America the KM to MPH is an owner optional change and not at all mandated in any way. I'm very confident in the people whom I spoke to about this matter. Cheers

That's great when the appreciation GROWS with time. Maybe that is why prices grow as people's sense of value grows with the car and the car can stand the test of time. (4 years isn't much but the trajectory is there:))

Sorry for the delayed reply. Yes you can change the KM to MPH via the on-board computer.

It appears now as another chance to join the GTO Owners Club with a two owner used car that has covered less than 500 miles from new. Available at a Florida Ferrari dealer...

Just had a thorough read of this thread for the first time and I think the GTO simply represents the best Ferrari era. of all time and pure motoring greatness.

Now that I've though about it too, there are not many cars I would own ahead of it.

Long live the 599 GTO!! :)

Agree 100% ! GTO is fast approaching iconic status among those that own and actually drive their steeds. She really is a fantastic and rewarding driver.
