I guess to get top dollar for my Countach, I will have to cut holes in the body, re-weld on the toasters and hang the CHP front bumper back on Give me a break. This is not the first time I have heard him steer away people from cars he does not broker
This is not my fight, but I feel compelled to comment. I have purchased no less than 5 cars through the use of Joe's services and have had a very positive experience each time, as had the Seller. I think Joe provides a very unique service and have found that he has an unrivaled network of owners with a certain caliber of car that prefers not to sell a car on the open market or through auction. Each time it has resulted in a fair and equitable transaction, with the pluses and minuses of the car pointed out prior to each purchase. I have also asked Joe to assist in reviewing pictures of other cars I have sought to purchase not under his broker and each time he has provided unbiased feedback on his assessment of the car as a favor. He has also stayed involved in the process on two restorations (Countach and Miura) I am undergoing and has been invaluable in ensuring that the car is being done to an exacting standard, also as a favor. There are also cars that he has pointed me to simply because he knew I was looking for one, without seeking a fee - a 77 Turbo for example. I don't think anyone can deny his knowledge is on par with most anyone in the industry. Is he in the business to sell cars - absolutely. Do I perform my own due diligence and inspection on any car I purchase as I do with any other car I purchase - of course. He has also sourced 3 of the top cars in my collection. Like anything else, you must decide for yourself based on your own experiences. This is simply my experience and you can take it for what it's worth.
I get involved on an exclusive Private Treaty basis with brokering only a small percentage of cars, and they are usually cars that I think are exceptional. I give away a lot of business being selective, but this business model is exactly why most of my particular clients hire me - they want to find the best cars. Perhaps you'd prefer me to run a social introduction service where I steer people to all the cars that I do not have an exclusive with? Give me a break.
Joe,as Much as i respect your knowledge in the world of Lamborghini, i am extremely disapointed in your lack of being able to diferentiate between original factory design and hideous add ons in order to satisfie a certein goverments requirements, shame on you
Right, iow you will favor the hideous additions, and totally disrespect the hard work of the young design team , just becuase Thats how it crossed the border. If it had a fly brigdge, in order to satisfy the us regulation at the time, for some odd height requirement, would you also leave that on?
Anybody interested in changing the subject? Because I would to know everyone's thoughts of "Holy Grail of Countachs". The Holy Grail of Countachs is, surprise, not my car. Though my car was finished first, I view production number 1 lp400s as the Holy Grail of Countachs. A second Holy Grail would be whatever the earliest in existence lp400. Followed by the Bravo and Marzal.
YES, uncluttered and pure, no flybridge ,or radar arch, Orange non metallic, white interior,my pale blue turtleneck is in armslengt distance, ready to go,
As said many many many at time in the Auto Industry.. "There is an ass for every seat" Buy what you like with your hard earned money and enjoy it... I always tell someone, if you don't like the way my car is set up...BUY it and change it to what makes your heart tickle in the wind... Just enjoy your car they way you have it and makes you happy PERIOD..
As far as QVs go, just because I would advise a client to buy an unmodified car, does not mean I prefer a USA body over a European body! As the owner of a USA-modified car points out, http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/143994007-post367.html "Holy Grail would be a QV DD". I would agree with that, and, I note that there are twice as many European-bodied QVs (DDs) as there are USA-bodies QVs (FIs) for my clients to choose from. A few years ago I didn't think it mattered, but with values where they are today, I advise my clients to seek unmodified cars, period. That's a business decision that I believe takes care of my client's best interests long-term. Most owners of a USA QV posting or reading here aren't selling, so it should make no difference to them whatsoever.
Missed this post. Again. That's a wild exaggeration. In fact, for me, there is no conflict, and I pay little attention to those that have one, real or imagined, with me or anyone else. I say what I say, I do what I do, I work hard to do it well, and I'm happy doing it!
I am just a simple boy from Ohio, but a pig who rolls around in ****, then walks away dirty and says he doesn't partake in said **** rolling, is still a pig by any other name In the meantime I am going to get another box of popcorn for the certain future drama that will roll around in another season or so Believe it or not I wish both parties well.
Pathetic response. You only continue to embarrass yourself, of course, you have nothing better to say. Again, get off your high horse Josh, meanwhile, kindly allow me to invite you to step-off.
Perhaps you both should take it offline or just stop? I think most people have already garnered the gist of the story.
+1! Joe's business is Joe's business and same for Roy's business. I dont think anything more would change a thing in anyone's head on this forum. The car was spotted and found and I see no one hurt by any fraudulent deal. Other than trying to make people look bad what is the point of all of this exactly? Someone at worst, tried may be to steer a sale and so what? This occurs everyday in any business. I guess we are more interested in the actual auctioned car as the title of the thread makes us beleive it is.
THIS is what dismays me about our "hobby"......I am no pollyanna yet it is supposed to be fun, enjoyable, relaxing and so on. MANY dealers/brokers/middlemen attempt to get in between the transaction for one and only reason, your $$ in their pockets. I find it interesting to pull back the curtain and watch them turn on each other....true colors. Jack
There should be a flame thread. sad we are all car guys and all love Lamborghini cars. Sharing info, helping and yes there is a big business in used Lamborghini cars. However, smearing people either vendors or clients is just bad form from both sides. More classic Lambos please less classic drama.
I was advised Joe would start sending me "threatening" emails and it appears that he has no qualms about continuing the matter. It's therefore only fair that people see the full extent of his dubious character: I shall post the full email chain this weekend so that future buyers are aware of this particular instance (and from what i have now read, countless other stories) regarding Joe and his sales tactics. Buyers shall have first hand transparent knowledge of how he has lied and distorted facts to suit his own agenda with unfounded claims and actual lies about the vehicle i ultimately purchased in his attempt to instead sell me a car that he had access to. You can all make your own decision as to whether his actions are above board, however i firmly believe the matter should be in the public realm to assist future buyers from being scared off by his underhanded and deceitful approach. You've proven nothing, absolute zero, you suggested that I tried to steer you away from that car, perhaps my response surprised you when I agreed, yes I did http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/143993456-post357.html and the bottom line is that you're sore because if you'd listened to me, you'd have ended up with a much much better car, than the one you bought. Your response? A pathetic attempt to slander me, but my reputation speaks for itself: Testimonials | Joe Sackey Classics Sounds like Sour Grapes to me.
Joe, You're digging a ditch. I'm delighted with my car and my purchase - the one you claimed to have inspected until you were asked for a report and then backtracked. The same vehicle you claimed had "poorly executed modifications" by George Evans since you knew who had carried out the work (and you are stating that i am slandering you?) and should have passed on. The fact that you asked me not to disclose your comments as they had been made in the "strictest confidence" has now become rather amusing as it was clear you had blatantly lied as you confirmed in your email to me tonight where you stated, "I did do the things you say I did, and so what?" Nice to see you have admitted to being deceitful and have quite interestingly threatened me in some sort of keyboard warrior email to myself. Enjoy waiting until Saturday, or post up and try and defend the matter before i get around to posting up exactly what was stated. I'm not fussed: the truth is there in back and white and you can try to further distort it however you see fit. Josh
