Oh boy, here is one I can hardly wait for!! What a waste of good tooling. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Beemax McLaren MP4/2 and Ebbro Lotus 91 both coming soon in 1/20th scale. I think the McLaren is being released right now. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
"What a waste......" I couldn't agree more!! If anyone ever had their doubts that Tamiya caters first and foremost to their home market (still this even seems a stretch for that) then this one certainly should put that to rest.
Well, Japanese probably say the same about all Revell and Monogram models of Fords and Dodges. This could be as simple as a job/order paid completely by Toyota. AND this is pretty iconic car for Japan btw.
Well it looks like an old 1930's FORD sedan. Since Toyoda was formed around the time of the U.S. Macarthur plan they were given assistance by the American Automobile companies. To think the US auto companies helped build the Toyota City, Japan based company is funny as Toyota would love to screw them all over. Most of the cars Revell/Monogram do now are American muscle cars.
I've had these up for offer a while ago, but sold them to fit 1/10 rather than 1/12. They are at least 10 to 15% bigger as the tamiya tire & wheel setup supplied in their kit. Wim
Similar to their 288 GTO partial assembled series model that came out a few years ago???? 100% agreed!!!

Here is part of the wish list I sent to Hiro for 1/12th scale models. So far they have done 5 cars off my old list that included the P4 Spider, 62 and 64 GTO's, BT46 fancar and 312 Bandini Monaco 1967. I think it's a sure bet they will do the P4 Berlinetta and 917K anyway. Ferrari 330 P4 Berlinetta 1967 Ferrari 250 GTO/LMB chassis #4713 or 330 LMB Ferrari 275 GTB/C chassis #06885 Lemans 1965 Ferrari Dino 206S 1966 Berlinetta Ferrari D50 1956 Porsche 917K Alfa 158 or 159 Porsche 804 F1 Mercedes W196 Aero body Ferrari 312 Monza 1966 winner Ferrari 166 1949 Lemans winner Maserati 250F 1957 Maserati 450S 1957 Ferrari 333SP Ferrari 512 S and M These are all some of the most historical cars ever made.
Great choices Tommy. Unfortunately here in Greece is very difficult to buy a Hiro in 1/12 scale, but I already have many in 1/24 - 1/20 so I build them.
Man, how awesome would that be? I love the fact that they are doing the 037 but the 333SP would be such a must have!
Oh my....... well Tom......if they make them, then I see at least three "must have's" on that list. Looks like I should probably start making space for them now!
SMP24 1/24th Maserati Boomerang full detail kit is almost ready. The use of nickel PE and photo etched window frames is my fault as I suggested it to them to make the model even better Sorry if you don't like etched window frames, but bare metal foil is not an option to me as it starts to pull up after 10 years............ By the way, I have the Hiro 1/12th Ferrari 312 Monaco kit and it is very nice. They did include 2 noses in the kit wich is a nice touch. I think the short nose race version is to short. The Firestone tire pre printed graphics are a little hard to see. I would have preferred they had given the rings as a decal as they are slightly off center and look to lightly printed. This kit has the least photoetch of any Hiro kit I have ever seen wich is not a bad thing. I think overall its a really good kit, but no photoetch rivets again. Mini Delta will start to love Hiro because of this
New 1962 low tail Lemans version of the Ferrari 246SP Dino in 1/24th scale...... Thrust record car coming in a few months along with the Cooper Indy in 1/24th scale. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Q Model was curbside and also was available as a slot car. I like the FPPM kit better. I have the Q model kit also that I bought 15 years ago. By the way, Motoi at Hapico can now get SMP 24 kits. He is rebuilding his website. Hapico
