Hi thanks for looking. I am lucky enough to have just bought my first Ferrari. I bought it 2 months ago and have spend a fair amount on it getting it driveable. The main thing that is left is a vibration under acceleration, mainly felt through the mid range of the revs in any gear. Ive just had a very low mileage gearbox fitted by a specialist Ferrari repair place and it had a clutch not long ago. No change in vibration. Its not bad just enough to annoy me. Any ideas? Perhaps, but... Same vibration at mid range revs in any gear? That would tell me different speeds, and the vibration only coming at mid revs. Tires should have a vibration tegardless of revs, increasing / decreasing in intensity based in speed.
I have had wheels/ tires feel fine at certain speeds but then vibrate at different speeds... That would be the easiest and cheapest fix
Thanks, the Tyres are new and the wheels have just been refurbished. I've been told it's probably driveline? Has anyone had any experience with this type of problem? Thanks Sam
It's very consistent and you can really feel it through your bum as driver and passenger, mainly through 3rd up to 6th gear. Exactly the same vibration. ��
I was going to guess tire and wheel. Nearly impossible to diagnose. As someone else mentioned I've had tires drive straight and then under acceleration had tq steer. -I had tried to get by with swapping just one tire. awhile back in my e46 m3. The mechanic wasn't able to figure it out? replicate the issue? May want to find a 2nd person to look at the vehicle.
I would think that any rotating mass that may be causing vibration would change in frequency during different speeds? Is the vibration constant or does it change when accelerating or decelerating? If it was constant throughout, I wonder if it could be a bushing of some kind or motor mounts etc.
also, remember to check you exhaust mounts (which always break). You'd be surprised how much vibration can come from that.
Could it also be a damaged wheel? Maybe get that checked as well, because this does sound like a wheel balance issue.
