I'm certain that one of these flew over our house this afternoon.I heard a different sound coming from the north and ran outside in time to see a low winged slender turbo prop powered aircraft moving smartly to the south toward Boeing Field or Sea Tac. A quick and good looking airplane.

As far as anyone knows, there is only one CL 44 left that is in near flyable condition. It is the Conroy Guppy version and, while it used to live in Tenn. it has been in England for about the past ten years.
There MAY be one or two others that could be brought back to life. I doubt that could happen without my knowing as I am one of the few qualified pilots left alive and mental capable. Well I am still alive at least...well there is serious doubt as to weather any of us were sane.
I'm thinking real hard about 4 engine turboprops that still fly and except for the P3 I am coming up blank. Someone in YIP has stretched a (I think) Convair 580 and is flying freight in them here on the East cost-but they are only two engines.

I'm pretty sure I saw a Dash 7 not all that long ago.

And isn't there a new Airbus 4 engine turboprop?
    A400M?

Those are both high wing... would be hard to mistake for a low wing.

    Old Electra (similar to P-3)?

Any old Viscounts or Vanguards still flying? Continental had a bunch of Viscounts at one time?

Probably not a Russian Bear... ha...

Thanks for your input. I don't know what else it could have been because it was longer and more slender than an Electra and had 4 turbo prop engines. Very smooth and liquid sound , not like the low throb of the Electra.

I seem to recall running FT's on this particular plane during its M model conversion.

A look back in Vietnam War Era History. The panel of my cousin's former FAC CE337 02. It is the same today as it was in 1968. All the original military radios are still installed and working along with the Gunsight which also still works. Even the Rocket Launchers still work. It served in Vietnam and has Combat History. He bought it out of a Museum in Midland-Odessa,TX. My cousin actually this 02 when he was a Forward Air Control Pilot in the Air Force. He ended up flying F-15's. Now his daily driver is a 777 for Delta Airlines.
