Yeah sure is, results page here:
    https://www.artcurial.com/en/asp/results.asp

The estimate of 170-210 seemed mad but it managed to get in there. Flying mirrors are really flying lol!

Hey all. This is my first post. I've been watching the TR market for a couple of years and waiting for the right car at the right price. Always been a Ferrari lover buying my first 308 when I was 19. Upgrading later to a Mondial 3.2. And, then from there to a 360 F1 spider and a 458 spider. And, now I have the TR as well. With the 360, 458, and TR in the garage, I can say I'm done for now.

The car is overall is 6-7 shape. Mostly original. Full service records. 2 owners. Less than 30k miles. It's at RMT Motorsports in California undergoing a thorough service to address any mechanical issues. I have to say, the car sounds amazing, and on a quick drive felt incredible. Can't wait to get her out and play (being very careful between 1st and 2nd gears). This was truly on my bucket list. I was the first guy on the car and paid $70k for it. Signed the papers and wired the money within a couple of hours. I feel really good about the purchase and know that many other people offered significantly more for the car in the coming days. I plan to keep the car and return it to "as new" condition.

I love the fact that there were only 121 U.S. spec cars from 1985. And, super excited that I was able to find and purchase this fine example.

PS: I plan to return the car to a single mirror and the original wheels...

Good for you. It looks like the dash is the same color of tan as the seats. Go to the local fabric store and get a yard or two of dark brown felt to throw up there and cut down the glare/reflection. A light colored dash in a TR is hard to live with while driving.

You might want to think about repainting the rocker panels to original spec.

    IMHO

    Awesome :)

From the pic it looks real nicely looked after and though obviously non standard atm, it`s got so much potential!

Just to give you an incentive (I hope!) to convert it back to standard, here`s a few pics of my early `86 RHD - which also had been converted from flying to dual mirror a long time ago....

pic1 - yours looks better already than mine did when it arrived, looking a bit sorry for itself with dual mirrors, gold painted wheels and enough badges to melt down and make another car. yuk!

pic2 - transformed and proudly sprouting it`s wacky flying mirror :D

pic3 - if you get bored of looking at it in your garage (not that you ever would), just start looking at the other side instead :p - the non mirror side is just as interesting and shows off the awesome arrow shape nicely.

pic4 - Mine`s not concours by a million miles, but it`s doing well for 63,000 miles - and how cool is that mirror every time you get in! :)

pic5 - It was serviced by a Ferrari specialist 7 years before I purchased the car - but as you can see many of those hoses and other stuff needed replacing 20 years ago! It was obvious once I got the engine out that I had to do a lot more than a standard service.....

pic6 - you don`t have to spend a fortune - just lots of time and I`ve now got peace of mind driving it. The hardest thing was taking it off the road at the start of this year to do the mirror, wheels and badges and other cosmetics etc.

I wish I had done more photos of putting the mirror back but I just got stuck in and did it all. Give a shout on here if you get stuck.

As long as it`s an original flying mirror car (which yours has to be being 1985) then the original mounting holes will be there somewhere. Once you get those uncovered again, that`s the hardest bit out of the way. Just make sure you get the parts before yout start....

So get going! You`ll have loads of fun :)

Dom, your car looks great. Yes, the holes are still there (covered pretty well). And , I figure I've got a bunch of work ahead. But, it's a labor of love as they say. I'll post pics and questions as we go...

Cheers :) It's not too bad a job really. Obviously you're doing the right thing getting the mechanicals sorted first.

I drove mine around for a couple of years after the engine out before I did the exterior bits - just couldn't stop driving it long enough to take it off the road!

I think the 2 mirrors look great anyway but once I put it back to original I knew I had done the right thing! The flying mirror sometimes looks a bit awkward in pics - but in real life I think it looks amazing.

Oh My God...the McLaren 570s prototype I saw tonight is just gorgeous seeing it in person...it may be time to trade the TR in for a McLaren. Joe, you're to blame.

I'm trying to imagine the car in white.

Sorry for the TR thread hijack folks, but if prices keep rising on the TR, I might have to trade/sell for the McLaren 570s after a 20 year love fest with the redhead.

I saw one of those for sale at Harrod's when I was about 7 years old...I begged my Dad to buy it for me (I think they wanted about 75k for it back then)....he said he would rather give me his real one for that price...he was amused...I was not.
