Thanks Heaps. No point having an F12 in Australia with speed cameras and goodie goodie coppers everywhere.
Wow, that was a lot of fun! I also went nuts when I saw your first pic but went even more nuts with this closer one! Now in the end it was just a shadow... How tricky a single image can be! Great thread, story, tour and pictures!
The last night was spent in Monte Carlo. And out of the 3 times that I parked at the casino the drivers always gave me pole position which was kind of cool! PS - I was the only guy getting out of an exotic and taking photos. All the other dudes were just playing it cool as cucumbers! The Next morning we left Monte Carlo early as my 5 day plate was expired and I couldn't be arsed negotiating with any Police on the way back to Italy. As soon as we crossed the Italian Board I decided to get a drop of fuel as we had a 550km drive ahead of us. So we got on the road at about 7.30am and I was sitting on a solid 140kph. Then a Suisse Registered Blue Bentley GT V8s came up behind me doing around 160kph...... So of course I decided to follow. It was pretty cool to see that the little rear wing was constantly coming up over 160kph. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Then after about 20 minutes there were 2 police cars doing about 110kph, so I decided to let the Bentley go and hung back a little. That was until an Italian registered Grigio Silverstone 458 Spider came up behind me and doing about 180kph, so I used him as a screen for my number plate and blew past the coppers in a tunnel when it was darker too. We sat on a good 200kph+ and then after a further 10 minutes we caught and overtook the blue Bentley and continued on our way. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Then after a further 15 minutes of sitting on 200kph+ I look in my rear vision mirror and there is a Monaco registered Grigio Silverstone California right up my clacker swerving in and out wanting to pass us. The 3 of us then proceed to play a cool game of tag with Mr's Condor noting that the noise the 3 cars were making in the tunnels sounded like the mating call of whales! We ended up stopping after about 380kms for another drink.... I also made this video; https://youtu.be/_V950IMzuVk Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
And then Back to the ranch for some Pasta and a Siesta. Stopping to collect some Proscuitto in the heart of Vicenza at famous place selling Proscuitto for 180 - 200Euro per KG and some wine. Stayed there few nights past summer. Picturesque hotel, perfect for car lover as you can enjoy beautiful roads, Montecarlo on one side, Nice on the other. If you are still in the area, I can only advise you to take the Turbie road to the Vista Palace, as well as spend some time at the Cap Estel hotel. You raised my curiosity as Hilton group moving into such small boutique hotels was unexpected. It's actually a French hotel chain, called "Relais and Chateaux". Thanks for the pictures, reminded of superb moments!
Awesome pics at Hotel De Paris! I can't count the amount of hours I have spent at the Cafe patio just drinking and watching all the beautiful cars pass through...
Just so you know, Relais Chateaux is not a French Hotel chain but a collection of normally quite small boutique hotels that meet various minimum (high) criteria for food, comfort, peace and charm. There are many hundreds all over the world and if travelling in Europe, download the guide as it is an excellent resource.
Yep I know. It's an associations of various hotels independently owned. No Franchise and not owned by the "relais & chateaux". The association originates from and remains French tough even though there are hotels all over the world.
True, but not any ham. Spanish "Jamón Ibérico" Sorry but other hams are a joke. Those who know will agree
I wanted to say "That kind of Ham + A V12 Ferrari" I am passionate about Ham. Pata Negra is my favorite, we also have some nasty things in France
