Look around. There are a lot of places like that. I have ridden in a lot of places and California is actually pretty good.

Southern Cal is a nightmare for street bikes. To many illegals without insurance. And then there's the legal immigrants. I have no idea how some people even get a license.

I'm thinking of tracking my 848 next season, you guys have me worried I'll end up dumping it on the track though - and it's a beautiful bike to think about going down.

Those of you that have taken spills on the track, what would you attribute the number one reason to being? Simply errors on your own behalf? Other riders? Bad track conditions?

Yep. Standard. I love telling jokes to those with broken ribs. They did it to me, why not back?

California is big. You're riding in the wrong parts of the State. The "good" outweighs the "bad."

True but I rode everywhere there and a bunch of other places too and never felt California drivers were trying to kill me.

Now if you think California drivers keep you on your toes , come to Texas.
They will keep you sharp around here. Saw a single car fatal right up the road from work a few days ago. Still cant figure out how he hit that light pole straight on. The only solid object around too.

California is no different than anywhere else, in my limited opinion, and possibly is better because of white lining, which is insane, but in its own right might make motorcycles more visible to cagers day in and day out.

Lots of great roads. The Camino Cielo above Santa Barbara. :):)

Exactly ten years ago I led a ride with four other couples spending two weeks riding northern CA, PCH, Central Coast and LA. In the three days we spent riding around LA we never once got on the freeway. The canyon roads from PCH over the Santa Monica mountains are exquisite.

Street bike I went down at pocono at the hairpin thinking I was better than I was. No injury. One guy was airlifted.

I personally bruised my right ribcage on a dirt bike. Flew off in 4th over some whoops.

    Interesting...
A motorcyclist crashes, and he or she's called an idiot.
A car driver crashes, and it's "Oh well".
A bus crashes, and it's "What happened?"
A bicyclist crashes, and it's "Are you ok?"
An aircraft crashes, and it's "Any injuries or survivors?"
A skateboarder crashes, and some say, "He/She deserved it"

Yup, the human animal is an odd bird...
