That actually is an old article. Probably 3-4 months ago.

    I agree my friend.

Did you read my post properly? I suggest you read again before shooting your thoughts off.

This continues to be perhaps the saddest story in modern sports history.

    Fight on. Michael. Fight on.

Absolutely tragic. My thoughts are with his wife and family. I just can't imagine.

That link doesn't say much. In fact, Sabine never mentioned, IIRC that MS is unable to speak or move.

The only latest news from that link is Bernie visited MS.

Having said so, no one really knows apart from the people close to his family how the situation is. I still believe he can pull through this, no doubt with a long timeline.

Not to thread jack, and likely posted in this thread already, but Jules Bianchi's family has said he is "stagnant". Obviously, every injury is different, but a serious head injury is a difficult journey to recover from. :(

I get sick every time I see him smiling in a pic or on TV.

I respect the family's wishes but I just wish we knew what was going on.

Schumy was my favorite driver. He was no media hero in front of the camera and clearly loathed media attention...that is why we may never know how well/bad he is doing.

Sadly I don't but pray for his recovery constantly. The reality is the bulk of the recovery has already occurred and recovery continually diminishes over time. One neurologist I spoke to mentioned a 10yr recovery timeframe. I don't think most people realize the amount he can recover is essentially done at this point. Wish I didn't know so much about it and praying for Bianchi too.

Bianchi situation is very sad as well. I'm not sure what's worse (recovery wise): Awake but very slow recovery (and uncertain how far he can recover) or out of coma, but unable to wake up?

I think, compared to Michael, Bianchi's condition is a tad worse. Judging from the video, the speed he was when he lost control was really bad.

Really really sad. I think, if that thing didn't happen, he will probably be groomed to replace Kimi next year, should that happen.

As for Michael, we can all continue to pray. It's horrible without any updates for so long now. Last genuine update was about a year ago, when he was transferred back home from the hospital. After that it's pretty much the same news..

Spoke to several team members during the GP weekend in Montreal and they basically said recovery for Bianchi is probably never going to happen.

His head is apparently terribly mis-shapen and elongated and they describe it as being pretty horrific.

They say Bianchi is far worse than MS and they have no hope for him at all.

Sad news, such a young talent...

    new here....
hmm, I doubt it very much. There is a photo of him immediatly after the crash, and his head looks normal (CAUTION : the photo is not graphic but shows the face of Bianchi after the accident so it can be disturbing) https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BzRxlY6CcAAIgjS.jpg

    Hi,
I made a answer but my comment was moderated I think, probably because I put a link to of a photo showing Bianchi without his helmet, immediatly after the accident. in this photo you can see that his head looks normal. No deformation at all.

Actually that could indicate that the knock was worse, ie. swelling on the inside instead of on the outside.

When I had a car accident when I was 16 and was hit in the side of my head I did not even recognise myself in the mirror because of the swelling, plus as a parent we are told that if your kid hits his head and there is an egg not to worry but if not to go to the hospital, if he/she is complaining of pain, due to internal swelling.
