I think its odd to assume this person would be a eco leftist. I have never had much luck or experience finding a tree hugger interested in a fight. Most are real woosies.

Hope the car is okay. What part of T.O. did this happen in? One of my friends with a GT3 always gets people cussing him out whenever he takes the Porsche out in Toronto. Its usually younger groups of kids in the downtown core. Because of his compact race driver packaging, people assume he's a spoiled rich kid.

Jealousy, envy and resentment are slow motion suicide......

Somebody hit my Range Rover with a brick once. I decided that was it, turned around, called the cops and waited for them to arrive. Unfortunately this was before cameras in cell phones and the perps took off. Imagine that.....four cowards ran from li'l ol' me.....(I don't necessarily recommend this approach for others.)

There are losers everywhere and not much you can do about it. Take some satisfaction in knowing that the idiot with his eyes too close together, that threw the bottle, does not has the brain power to ever get a Ferrari. He probably just figured this out with his two brain cells and lashed out at you. You did the right thing. Remember, you can always fix a dented or scratched Ferrari but that guy can't fix stupid.

From what I'm reading Toronto doesn't sound like a friendly place for high-line cars.

    Sorry you had this problem.

I do not drive the Fcar at nite. Drunks on the road. Now they are throwing bottles. Yikes.
Also there is wildlife on our roads...bears, elk, deer, coyotes, cougars, racoons, dogs, etc.

And i do not valet the fcar day or nite. Our place is right next to the free shuttle stop. No worries about DUIS either. Of course we live in a small town. Shuttle is 10-15 minutes from home. I understand big city is different. I chose a small town for a reason.

Biggest risk...dont leave ANY food in your car as you are likely to have bears try to get in there. :(
They counted over 400 bears in town last summer-fall. Really.

I live in eco leftist country but haven't experienced a single negative reaction in the four years I've owned my (red) 328. Maybe that's because people still think it's only worth $30K!

i have been blocked in traffic, spit on, and drinks poured on my car, and these incidents happened in the uk, france, italy....then once in lyon somebody threw a bottle...i stopped, saw who it was, slammed it in reverse and chased the guy in reverse down the street. he ran up on the curb so that i couldnt follow, so i stopped and took out my phone and started dialing the police, then he ran off again.

by that time i had calmed down some, seen that there was no damage, and just got in and drove on.

these cars elicit the best and worst in people, and the worst people are always *******s with a chip on their shoulders.

i feel for the op. its moments like this when you would like to be judge dredd. but the best thing to do is stay calm and move on - like my grandmother used to say 'dont get into a fight with a pig, both of you get dirty'.

The only really negative thing that has happened to me, was a POS generic Japanese brand of car with a coffee can muffler cut in front of me and slammed on his brakes. When I didn't rear end them (thank God for huge brakes), the idiot continued to drive slow and cut into my lane when I attempted to pass. I pulled over to the shoulder and they simply continued on their way. Didn't know if I should rack this up to negative attention, or someone out for an insurance claim.

I usually run with my dash cam recording to capture anything like this that may happen. Mostly it's just people swerving into my lane taking pictures, however.

Unfortunately we get lots of the aggressive stuff here I'm the UK too.

Took a girl to her prom the other night, and while there everyone was very nice and chatted about the car, girls wanted to marry me etc haha. But on the way to collect her for it, had three incidents where people acted aggressively, whereby if I had been in anything else, they wouldn't have batted an eyelid. One, there's a road where the space goes from two cars passing, to a genuine single lane, so when you get there, you kinda have to let anyone already on that stretch to carry on, and then take a turn. I waited for eight cars and trucks to come through, then it was clear, I'm guessing it's 500 yards long. When I got 400 down, a loser cruiser minivan stops at the normal wait point, them decides what the hell, and comes past, so now we can't pass.

I motioned to them to reverse back, as its polite when she made a mistake, but she says no. I switch off, light a smoke, and turn up the radio! After five minutes, traffic is queued either end, and one nice lady comes to the dumbass, and explains to her that she needs to reverse, and then comes to me and says that some people are so dumb. We laugh, dumbass moves back, I get through...... Two, as I'm squeezing through, as the road is only just two lanes anyway, one driver in the queue waves me down, I slow, and he is shouting about not being able to drive and that somehow, I was in the wrong, so I explain what happened, tell him he's a loser amongst other things, and drive off. Now I feel a little better.

Three, I'm now a few miles down the road, and we are on a dual carriageway, where you have an inside lane and an overtaking one. I overtake a taxi that is ten under, I'm in the overtaking lane, the lane ends and I filter into the inner lane in front of him. He is flashing his lights, blowing his horn, going absolutely nuts behind me. Unluckily for him, I've had enough, and the lights are red. I calmly walked back, and to his shock, asked him his problem. He claimed I shouldn't have overtaken him, he felt he was going fast enough. What a prat.

I told him to mind his own business as next time I wouldn't be there for a chat, and drove off........ WTF is this country coming too, ignorant drivers who don't respect other road users, people who think they own the road, faux police taxi drivers - what next? I wish we could concealed carry cos the roads around here would get real empty real fast!

The guns are useless against militarized cops. Getting pulled over for simple traffic violations in US you aren't sure if you make it out alive. No thanks.

    1. Idiot throws bottle at your car.

    2. You get out of car and shoot idiot.

    3. Police arrest you.

    4. Half your net worth goes to your defense attorneys.

    5. Other half goes to idiot or his estate.

If he'd been in a Prius he would have gotten out, picked up the bottle and recycled it himself! That's real tree hugging!!

This wasn't even the most incensed tree hugger-those guys are smart enough to know they don't have the bank roll to be dragged into court by anybody. That said-there was a trend in Cambridge for a few yrs ago where these guys were walking around putting 'green' bumper stickers right on the paint-the hoods, back gates, doors wherever on parked SUVs. Pretty aggressive for the tree crew!

They must have graduated had some kids and figured out why folks drive SUVs

The world has a lot of a$$h..s. You happened to meet one the other day. I run into a lot of them and I understand how it bothers you. The best thing you can do is try to condition yourself to immediately realize there are more important positive things in your life and just move on. The stress isn't worth it.
