    Fabio,

Thank you very much for taking the time to ask for that information, I didn't have most of it. That was very thoughtful of you, and please let me know if I can be of service to you one day! That's a fantastic HGTC you got there, congratulations! I imagine how you must felt when driving it!

Kindest regards and thank you once again for everything,

    Fabio,

I'd like to congratulate you on the most enthusiastic possible terms for your work. At first I didn't think you were the same Fabio that orchestrated what is for me personally the most fantastic work I've ever seen on a 550/575 over another Ferrari related forum (don't know if I can post the name and the link, but in case I shouldn't, I won't), and for that I apologise. Didn't realise I was talking to a true project master:

    Truly impressive stuff. Complimenti!

    Cordiali saluti,

    Nuno.

Nope, one of you 550 owners needs to tackle that.

After dreaming for years of owning a Ferrari, and finally narrowing my search to Maranellos, this past month I found an amazing 2002 575M three miles from my home in northern Virginia. FChat was very helpful in helping me refine my wish list.

I ended up with a car that is perfect for me - FHP, F1, racing seats, Azzurro California exterior, three-toned interior: Crema seats / Blue dash /Cuoio carpeting. Books, tools, service records, original window sticker. My wife jokes that it is a 'chick-car' with the exterior color and crema interior - but then she's afraid to drive it, so guess not;-)

The car has just slightly over 12,000 miles and has been serviced locally by Competizione. Aside from some sticky bits (which I am tackling myself), and squeaky brakes (just bought replacement pads from Ricambi) the car has no obvious needs.

Looks great! FHP was quite a rare option in the U.S. by all accounts and I've read on here that was in part due to dealers advising against it because of the potential for squealing brakes - but as we all know, that is easily cured with alternative pads and you are left with a sharper tool.

I also noticed that the window sticker indicates that your seats are the 'narrow' version... How do you find them? I think these seats look great and I have sat in one car and they felt great - but it didn't occur to me to ask what size they were.

Wow, I had not even noticed the word 'narrow' on the window sticker. I had no idea the seats were offered in varying widths. I find the seats absolutely perfect, but then I have a 'narrow' build ;-)

I would think anyone without a slim build might find them overly restrictive. I love the contrasting red stitching on the seats, it is carried on to the blue dash too. Hard to show in the photos.

Beautiful , I have very similar car 2002 with FHP and Carbon Seats but 6 speed. Yours must of been chicks or very slender because I know my ass would not fit in those as mine are large seats and they are tight. It's nice not having the extra weight and electric to break down. Enjoy

Steve, your car is fabulous. I see you are a new 575'r too. Amazing experience to sit in those racing seats, listen to that engine roar and start the process of learning the limits of car and man. I imagine that like most cars, after the months and years go by the initial thrill is less... hopefully I am wrong. I spent the day today riding with my brother who flew out from Huntington Beach CA to see/drive the car. Thanks for your note, I know this is supposed to be a technical thread, so I bow out now. Only posted here because it looked like there was an effort to document serial and assembly numbers.

    Stunning!
I really believe that design to be more coherent and attractive then any V12 that followed, including the vaunted F12.
I had early 2007 599 as my first ever new Ferrari and never warmed up to it the way I did to 550/575.

I am selling my 575SA and the buyer (who is in a different state) has asked if I have the "Key Codes" Unfortunately I am also out of state and I cannot just search the car. Does anyone know where I should ask my friend to look?

I am at the point of pulling my hair out completely, so frustrated with the roof in my SA.
Car is sitting for months at a dealer and they have no clue either, roof opens normally once and then stops working.
They have replaced the ECU (controlling unit) with a new one sent from the factory and problem still persists.
    Drives me crazy.....

Serious sympathy, Mark. Your issue reminds me of one reason why I avoid automobile sun roofs and would have ordered my Cadillac STS-V without one had every one produced not come "fully optioned" without any deletes: 1. I never use it, and 2. it is just one more mechanism, more accurately group of mechanisms: ECU, sensor, servo motor, linkages, that can malfunction and rubber seals to deteriorate. In your case it is far worse: you re deprived of the very purpose of owning a Ferrari: to drive it!

Regarding your SA roof issue. There is a big volume of tips and repair items buried in these
Threads and one by Sir Paul in Hong Kong. Also issues with the state of battery charge even with the engine running and loose electrical connectors on the motors. Are you getting an error message or just a refusal to flip? Do the glass latches function? Have the small struts been replaced? I have a pair if needed. Mine lost its mind recently and a new fat interstate battery and lots of repetitions fixed it.
