johnk my long lost brother - I've been listening and in total agreement with you. Yes if these cars are worth $100K why are there so many listed for far less? Doesn't make any sense - if I thought this car was worth $100K I would be buying everything for sale at $70K.

I bought a 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo for around $60K in 2006 - If I list that car at $100K I can probably sell it in a day - If I list it at $60K it will be sold in a second. You will not see a 993 Turbo for $60K today PERIOD.

I bought a 1997 Ferrari GTB six speed, red/tan interior in 2007 for $70K. If I list that car at $100K I know I can't sell it; at $70K probably. Do you see these cars listed for $70K...YES and some are even less.

Main point of this thread is to notify when new cars hit the market with web links. It is here to link any info you have about a car with past ownership, experience, or if you have taken a look at cars for sale with input that could help a buyer not near a car before they spend money on a PPI that could be a waste of time.

I don't think we need a DAILY update from each member on perceived values - good or bad, high or low. Maybe monthly or quarterly debates. :) Most of us buy the car(s) we like based on driving experience, fun, and what we find beautiful. They can go up and down. We are in the wrong market to try to pinpoint this like stocks.

Let's agree to disagree between those that think values are up and those that think values are lower. It's not a huge spread for someone trying to find the "right" car. Both sides and all those in between can be correct on any given day. Let's get back with helping enthusiasts find good cars and pointing out what they may need to bring them to good and fun driving condition.

Here is a gated berlinetta to investigate even though it says F1 on the title:

    Ferrari 355 F1 | eBay

It does seem that more cars lately are coming on the market in response to current prices.

Hope the group is doing well. Been out for a bit. Had my dad's memorial today. In that spirit, I'd recommend we celebrate the things that make you happy in life and don't sweat the small stuff. We all love the cars. So let's drive more, support more, share more, and stay positive out there. Everyone here has some great stories or thoughts to help another member have a great day.

    Best.

Hey Robb, your link is to a Spider.

And if anyone's interested in that Spider, I have the following entry on it:

    1999 F355 Spider
    ZFFXR48AXX0116293
    Rosso Corsa/Naturale
    6-Speed Manual
    Rosso Calipers
    Tubi Exhaust
Offered by Lamborghini Carolinas, Summerfield, NC on December 11, 2006 with 938 miles* for $99,500.
A clutch service and 30K belt service were completed on 05/2006 with 6744 miles.
*Reported mileage must be an error. Probably 6938 miles.

The black GTB from the original post quoted above has sold. I spoke to the owner of the dealership and he told me he got 97k on his 99.9k ask. I'm sure people will doubt that, but I have no reason not to believe him as he doesn't typically represent ferraris (he's prinarilarly a Porsche dealer) and has no reason to try to manipulate the market. Plus, he's a friend who I trust.

Black horse just listed a 95 red tan GTB. For those who follow the market closely, this seems to be the same car which sold in an hour on eBay for mid 50s with the complete engine rebuild from Competizione.
The original eBay add showed major stress cracks on the rear butress. I wonder if black horse had that fixed and had the rear repainted.

Anyway, it's on eBay with 34k miles for 89.9k

Now that's a beautiful eBay listing. Tons of photos and absolutely fantastic photography. Even the close-ups of paint chips and sticky parts look professionally done.

Compare that with this one, where the seller couldn't even be bothered with taking the car out of the garage or using a real camera.

I've called on a couple of the ebay cars as I've been looking around. The Black GTB from Udrive that has 28k miles does have an accident on the carfax. They didn't know what or how bad, but were very up front about it. They said they had lots of interest from other dealer that wanted to pick it up for 60K. I also looked into the silver spyder in Texas with 12k miles. I really liked that car and the milage, but got scared that no one was jumping on a car with so low miles. The car fax they sent me stated that a county in which the car was registered had been declared a flood disaster. They didn't seem very cool on the PPI, so I walked.

If by 'slowing down', you mean 355s are not selling as quick at this point in time ....... then I hope that is the case ...... as I will be needing a grigio berlinetta ...... and if I cannot find a normal example at a normal market price ..... then I will begin to look at ..... modenas .....

I am the one that bought the red/tan 355 1995 6 speed with 5800 miles. I just receive the car Today and it looks amazing. I checked the car at Auto Elite in the lift and we went over the car for 3 hours. The car is a 5800 miles car , engine pressure , under the car , interior condition is 10 out of 10

RAC went over all the points that I saw it on the PPI from Norwood and replace all issues that the car had it . Because it was sitting for many years it needed some cosmetic , small issues that were all replaced.

I am very happy with the car .

Congrats on the purchase. It is great to see potential buyers check-in on this thread and post results. In less than 2 months, this thread already has 18k views.

Congratulation on you new car. But I have to say I'm a little confused. Could you comment on the remarks made in this post by someone who viewed the car and walked away? https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/143973975-post75.html Were the issue brought up addressed before you bought the car?

On that bombshell - this 355 is close to my neck of the woods and looks mighty intriguing. Any F-chat history with it I should be aware of? The VIN - ZFFPR41A0S0102244 - comes up blank across the the forum.

Perhaps, but they did sell the GTS for 175k.

If someone wants a practically new red GTB, there aren't many choices.
