    FCA National convention this year is in Monterrey, Ca in August. I'm all set to go to it. Looking forward to the get away...

    Just curious if any other local members were planning to go out there?? Maybe we could meet up out there for some of the activities...

    I would have loved to have my 2005 F430 out there with me for the Tracking event, but I'm finding the cost of having it sent out there and back to be way too much $$$.. I got quotes of $3000K for a single car and 12-15K if I could get a group of 6 together... this part is a bummer... And not going to drive it for a number of reasons...

    If anybody has an ideas or possible options where I could do this without costing $$$, please let me know....

    We are both going.

    As far as transporting the cars. This is the high season and you will not believe the number of autohaulers that will be converging on Monterey (1 R in the California Monterey BTW) so they have little incentive to make deals.

    You might get in touch with Bobby Smith up in Gainesville. He may have or may know of a truck that has not filled up.

    One warning. The track event will be a gas but every other place you go will be near grid lock and all the local law enforcement agencies will be out in force and looking to make examples of people.
    I guess that was two. Have fun. Its a great place but it will be crowded. If you have not been before bring a camera. It is a very picturesque area.

    FYI - I did also check with interstate, which is a forum sponsor. Still too much $$$. And as far as sponsor discount, was only going to get $50 each way.

    So it looks like I want get to play on the track, but will enjoy the other activities..

    I think I will be pretty tired by Monday after 5 days in Monterey but I could summon enuff energy to walk through the concours before heading back to LA, Are the grounds open to spectators or do you have to be credentialed six ways to Sunday?

    Thanks. I have checked with them also. . Just to much to seems out there and back. . But still looking forward to the trip.. Hoping to a nice car out there to use in the rally and track tide around..

    Try calling Curves Ahead. I have used them a couple of times. Great communication and state of the art transport.

    How did it go? I thought concours spectator was $50.

    I might need a banquet ticket if anyone has an extra they want to sell.
