Thanks for all of the positive responses. I got it yesterday and finally took it for a drive last night. It is amazing. It is noticeably quicker than the regular 458 and sounds ferocious. I almost skipped this variant and went straight to the 488. I'm glad I didn't miss it. I would say that 458 to 488 is a natural progression. Speciale is a different thing really. I think it is one of those cars that comes along every now and then, that just stands out above its peers and offers an enduring appeal that justifies the effort of owning it and not selling it. It will just be a great car to have around, even when 498, 508 etc. have come and gone, and when we are probably inundated with Hybrid or even EV performance cars. They will all be faster, and that generation will create its own superstars. But the Speciale will become like the Dino; totally outclassed by modern machinery, but with a style and lightness of response that exemplified a golden era. And in its way, unimpeachable. Hope you enjoy yours!
Spot on - Mine will not be sold in my lifetime Funny thing even though the Aperta is more rare the purest form is the Speciale IMO
