    The thread on here about first owners of our cars started me thinking about how many here are original owners of their 348 or 355. If you are the original owner or know of an original owner, still possessing the car, let's hear from you.

    1990 348TS RED/TAN. 16K miles If I remember correctly (the car has been in a shop/storage) for the last 10-12 years. All original, never molested. My Father is the original owner, but that will soon be me :) I will park it next to my 1989 TR RED/TAN with only 13.5K miles. I purchased from my aunt after my uncle (original owner) passed away. Neither car had an engine out major done. The TR went in earlier this year http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/boxers-tr-m/477815-89-tr-going-rehab.html and once she is done, I will have the 348 towed there to be done. Big bro and Little bro will be reunited once again.

    Very cool. I waited 16 years to do my first engine out and the tech said it probably wasn't necessary. I think it had 1850 miles on it at the time.

    16 years and only 1850 miles. WOW, now that's low. how do you choose when to drive it?


    More-so a preventative measure. I think of it as insurance, because if that belt pops, OHHH OHHHHHH... I am curious to know how often this actually happens to people, and when it does, under what circumstances.

    From the lack of response, apparently not many. A better question might have been how long did you keep your first Ferrari. Seems to me the answer would be 3 to 5 years.

    Not me! I was 16 when my car was built. Only place I saw an F355 was in Motor Trend.

    Well, I just took possession of the TR early this year. My dad on the other hand, it was his dream to own a Ferrari, he bough one, put most of the miles on the first 4-5 years, then barely drove it. I always thought it was a waste to let it sit, but then again, I was just a kid. I guess now I will have a low mileage 348 as well. Once it is out of the shop, I will definitely drive it.

    My 348 is my first Ferrari and I have had it 10 years now.

    Won't sell it, absolutely love it.

    Will hopefully add to the garage down the track, maybe a 430 if I want something soon or will wait another 10 years and get a 458 which I will probably do as I really love the look.

    But will still consider a 430 as I want the 6 speed manual box.
