My wife has an M4 as her DD and it doesn't compare to my old M6. It was also almost HALF the price for not much less car. Her DCT is the ultimate tranny whereas the M6 SMG was absolute garbage. I love BMW but they should be embarrassed for the SMG!

Was the suspension thing that guy was harping about early in the thread just BS then? Are there aftermarket fixes if it is an actual problem like the Capristo is for the 430 exhaust problems?

Don't have time to re-read the entire thread, but there are upgraded, beefier ball joints available from Hill Engineering. No, it's not bull**** if we're talking tie rods and ball joints, and the F430 has the same issue with tie rods. That entire generation of Fcar, 612 included, the ball joints are consumables unless and until you replace them with Hill.

I know the car you're referring to. Great example. See if you can get them down to $145!

The guy thinks its made of gold but says it'll stand up to a PPI with no problems. I guess Norwood would be the final deciding factor for that. I've been messaging via email but I've seen other examples for $135K with half the mileage lately. Price is about average. I guess since it's a dealer, they will try to get more. Just to "iffy" for me right now...

Nice thing about buying from a dealer though, especially one that advertises heavily in forums, is they well stand behind their cars. Might not be perfect on arrival but they tend to make good.

My 599 goes to the Dealer for a steering rack. Lucky, it's covered under warranty. This weekend past, we drove the car for a total of 425 km. The car is a little rough on some of the roads we encountered but all in all I think it is a wonderful GT. One of the other members who joined us, brought his first Ferrari. A 430 spider. His comment when I took him for a drive was that he thought the 599 drove better and the power is addictive. At 6'5 he also appreciated the head and leg room. His final comment was, I have one more spot in my garage and I now know what it going to fill it.

You can't really compare one generation to a different generation. My point is M3 is (or should be/ used to be) a smaller more nimble car. M6 is bigger, heavier, more of a cruiser but can still hustle. Thats the difference between sports car (430) and GT (599).

I'm going to throw out another opinion and vote for the 599. Most of North and West Texas is pretty miserable to have a sports car. The 430 is a great car, but it doesn't really shine in wide open spaces. If you had some nice coastal roads or canyons it would be a keeper. For the Texas landscape, a 599 seems better suited. I recently moved back to Dallas from northern arizona. Northern arizona had some of the best roads on the country for sports cars and motorcycles. Dallas does not. As a sort of consolation prize, I got myself a 2010 612. I left my caterham in Sedona, along with my ducati. I got the 612 because I new it was a Ferrari I would enjoy in Texas, without going to the track. It makes driving to Austin (almost) enjoyable. I think out in Lubbock you would have a similar experience and probably use the 599 more.

As for the suspension issues, they all have this ball joint business, and I had mine replaced when I just had the belts done at 15000 miles. Actually probably didn't really need it, but this ones a keeper for me so I figured it was worth it.

You have a pretty nice problem to have.

Figured that's the one you're referring to. Car has 34,435 miles on it. If you want it, I know they will take $130 for it. It was offered earlier this year with 8k less miles on it. The asking price was $138500. I can only imagine what the previous owner negotiated. With 8k more miles, I offered $124. It's also got a lot of mods to it. Which devalues the car - so I was prepared to put it back to normal.

Dealers gotta get a clue. 07 with 24k miles priced at $160??? Where do they come up with this?? I get it. The majority of cars listed have been for sale since the first quarter of this year. A lot has changed since then and new metal being priced the same is poor form.

I'm just pitching a fit cause pricing does not reflect supply & demand.

So do you think they may go up in price? Is this maybe the bottom? I know the GTO will be first to show the turn around but in the base model?

Highly doubt that 8 years in is the full depreciation curve for this vehicle. No, I think they have 10-20% more to go. I also think the dealers are attempting to make the mkt. Again, the issue is that many took these veh in on trade months ago for the price they should be going for right now.

The mkt is that quick with these cars. While they should be selling for the prices we are willing to offer after studying trends and prices all over the country taking into account certain model years and mileage along with colors and options - to lose money on a Ferrari is a foreign concept to a dealer. Therefore, both parties are left waiting for the other to give in.

I just know one thing, even if the price declines post-purchase you'll love driving it so much that you won't care.
It's a beast of a car. It's a fantastic drive. Wish I did it sooner.

The only drawback to depreciation is if you decide to swap to another model. I just can't shake that damn F12 out of my head right now...

Having vs. Wanting, you'd miss your 599. F1-S over DCT. 599 is prettier, too.

I'm not sure Sean. I still adore the 599 and as Bob said, it looks better. But the F12 has a certain appeal, and the looks are slowly growing on me.

In the perfect world, I'd want one manual Ferrari, an F1-S, and a DCT.
I'm currently out of parking spots though :(

    What's up Todd!
I'm on the stock Pentagrams. I like the look, just wish they were 20" fronts...but oh well. The spacers will resolve the conservative offsets. Should look great :)
I'll be doing Michelin SuperSports at the same time. 315 rear, haven't yet decided on 245 or 255 fronts. Depends on the sidewall profile of the tire.

Someone reached out to me and empathized with my sentiments on dealers making a mkt. I've been keeping a close eye on things and last night ran into some disturbing things.

Below is a link to a car which has few miles, but is poorly optioned (Steel Brakes/No Shields/Leather Steering Wheel)

    Ferrari 599 V12 F1 Auto | eBay

Below this, is the same vehicle marked up $10,000.00. It has been on the chopping block for months. WTH???

    2007 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano F1A, $169,980 - Cars.com

Below is a link to another vehicle with higher mileage and an odd color (not the good kind). It has recently been marked up $5,000.00. Been on the chopping block for months also; WTH???

Let us not forget about the black sheep which has been offered for more than half a year, still hasn't sold & even one of our very own members provided a report about it's horrific condition. They're still asking crazy money given its history.

2007 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano | Cars & Trucks For Sale | Phoenix, AZ | Shoppok

*This mess is ridiculous!!! Thanks for letting me vent guys..

This is why you need to go in "cash in hand" (or pre-approved for loan) and be prepared to bend arms. No one likes to be a "ball breaker," but that is the game you must play sometimes.
