She finally arrived and I had a chance to go for a drive for the first time today. I finally understand what all the fuss was about! The car is just unbelievable. It gives me more confidence as a driver than any other car I have ever driven. The car fits around you like a glove and gives all the appropriate visceral inputs ..it's really awesome. What a machine! I can't wait for mine to arrive I'm pleasantly surprised how dark it is. Is that a full NART stripe with NART centre or TDF centre? Also interesting that you optioned the wheel area to be quite dark by the looks of it black calipers? And carbon fibre caps? I've opted for yellow brakes and will buy the cf another day for a treat! How about your interior spec? Any changes or regrets? Love to see more photos please!! Thanks.
Hi there. Cheers. Just arrived in Bologna having driven from Portofino. Stopped at Maranello for a pic, rude not too. On the way the bloody fuel filler release failed. The Italian gas station attendant rolled his eyes. Thank heaven for the emergency release cord. Apart from that the car is a dream even in 40 C heat. It's a NART stripe but with TDF centre. Regarding the wheels and calipers, I went for dark deliberately. When I specced my 599 GTO in 2010 I went for Ferro, Silverstone and carbon everywhere (part painted on sills). I was going to have yellow calipers but the Ferrari guy at the factory atelier told me not to. He said yellow calipers draw the eye from the whole and in his opinion reduces the effect. I thought he was over doing it until he made look at my configured spec with yellow calipers with two fingers placed over the wheels. Then told me to take my fingers away. The effect was dramatic. He said if I wanted yellow not a problem. But suggested I went with aluminium. Money was the same. He also said when was the last time I saw a Ferrari launch or display car with yellow calipers. I went aluminium for the GTO. For my 458S I went for black. No right answer, whatever floats your boat. Interior on my 458S is simple, charcoal alcantara, nero text/fibre stuff down the centre, nero alcantara on dash top, no coloured stitching (no reflections) and carbon where possible (inc engine etc). Good luck with your car, it's a fab car but you know that anyway Will post a couple of new pics in a mo.
