Well, my shop's SD is still out. The car is parked there and they supposedly have a plan to get it to a different shop with an SD computer (gulp).

They did call last week and tell me they spent all day troubleshooting the rear deck lid latch & switch becuase the "open rear deck lid warning light was on. You know the one in the lower left corner of the dash..." (facepalm)

...and to close this thread with a final resolution, I drove the car all weekend without any issues.

I finally got the system bled out. It was done on an SD computer but in talking to some shops I respect, it sounds like you can do the bleed process without one.

I swear it got smoother and better as this weekend went on. 200 miles since Friday afternoon.

This was a long process. I knew it would be...just never expected so many little things to go bad at once.

AND! LFSC was incorrect about my need for a $10,000 repair of my broken carbon actuator shaft. (whatever the heck that is) :)

Thanks to all of you for the help and support.

Whaaat? A bleed over a $10,000 "carbon actuator shaft?" What does LFSC have to say about that?

Watson i am glad you got it sorted.
I know some have problems with Brian but i for one appreciate his cander. I have found over the years he is generally always correct but his straight forwordness is sometime not what people want to hear.
There are some things that can be fixed ourselves and other things such as the f1 that are a lot more difficult to fix because there is no way to actually know what is going on without the sd.
I am defending Brian because atleast he has the experience and knowledge.
I will help you when i can and when i cant i will try not to guess!! You really need to understand as much as you can because it seems many of the really good mechanics with years of experience for our cars are either retired or out of the buisness and others make bold statements when they dont even know. That frustrates me way more than the way others with experience respond to our problems.

Tha being said go drop the hammer and you will remember why the F1 is so much fun!!
