They named the new turbocharged California the "California T" So why not the "458 T" or "Italia T"? I guess "Model T" was already taken.
My dealer principle in Atlanta had a scud in this color. I saw it many times. It is in fact more orange than red in direct sunlight. Not rosso dino orange, but far from a true red. At least to my eye. You must see this color in person in bright light. Pics will not do. The new metallic rosso corso may give you the look you want. Best
Thanks for that feedback. I have asked the dealer to get me a sample swatch F1 2007. I will make a call after seeing it.
Thanks for posting. Oddly enough the rear of the car, which I think is the best designed area of the car, does not look so good in black.
F1 is a deep pearl red out of the sun but as more sunlight hits it an orange undertone becomes more and more distinct. It is not anywhere close to orange even if it looks that way in some pictures. It has a ton of depth and character. Here's an indoor example followed by a couple shots in different outdoor lighting and, for fun, a picture of the launch scud that was this color alongside her big sis. The color in these photos is fairly accurate on an iPhone or Ipad. Just gorgeous. My 458 coupe was the triple yellow. Went rosso Corsa on my 458 Spider. Currently have my 458 GTB spec'ed in Rosso Corsa but am now starting to think whether I should give the yellow another whirl again!
Definitely more red. Orange is an undertone that is distinct in full sunlight but not nearly as much as seems from pictures. I am obviously biased but I can't see you regretting it other than the silly premiums for special paint. It is rare, blends rosso corsa and scuderia depending on the light but with added pop and has a tangible connection to F1. I am curious how this compares to Fuoco which seems to show its orange undertones even out of the sun.
It seems the same combination as mine, but, in my completely biased opinion, the Italia is more beautiful! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just a off topic question, anyone here know if the next generation of Ferrari v8 (458/488) Will have carbon fiber chassis or they will continue with aluminum?
Does anyone in the U.S. have an actual confirmed allocation and order place in the Ferrari system with pricing. If so, what market are you in and can you share the prices. if not, what is everyone being told for when first allocation will open up? My sence is we're still a couple of months off.
The mule has a very different side scoop than the eventual production car. More generic IMO. It also seems to still have the 458 engine intakes behind the rear quarter window. It does seem quick. As for the sound....
I don't recall anyone posting Motortrend magazines first drive review of the 488. Here it is sorry if it's a re -post. 2016 Ferrari 488 GTB Review - First Drive - Motor Trend
Arnie I'm in Pennsylvania and have a confirmed allocation for a November build. My dealer is Algar and my order is entered and confirmed. They said 488's will start arriving stateside in December, good luck. Your dealer definitely has all the information and as of last week almost all but a few options are available.
