According to RM Auctions and Sotheby´s only 199 manual 612´s were built in total. This means that only 6% of all the 612´s (more than 3000) are equipped with the gated six-speed transmission. Only 43 of those were sold in Europe.

I'd like to see the back-up research citation for that number. That being said, seems consistent with 05 SA with 559 produced and 39 are stick. BTW NOT to steal your thread and this is relevant to the 575 guys ..... but just saw that Rick Cole Auction in August 2015 at Monterey is auctioning off a 575 stick (FYI). I'll post in 575 Section.

    Hi Stephen,

Our Research department got that number directly from the factory. We were curious how many were built as well, so we went straight to the source. We did the same with the manual transmission 599 GTB that we sold at Amelia Island this year as well.

    Thanks!

If the factory provided a written statement with respect to the quantity produced I'm sure many would appreciate you publicizing same. I'm sure all owners and/or prospective purchasers would feel more comfortable in assessing rarity/value with a written factory confirmation.

Should it be signed in blood, or is a simple notary sufficient. :D

Now now. I feel there is merit to the other gentlemans last statement. Maranello is like Charlie's Chocolate Factory regarding many topics.

Ferrari factory letterhead with a signature indicating whom signed the letter would be satisfactory. A notarized signature isn't required.

So my estimate of 80 manuals in the US might be too high...

It's great that we have a solid figure at last. 199 for the world will make manual 612's a rare thing indeed. What I would like to know is the number of RHD v LHD?

Production #s for all 612s are only a fraction of the V8 production cars and TR. So, overall, the car should be considered rare with just over 3,000 produced.

Approximately the same number as the 456 and 456M combined.

So the question is how much of a premium one would pay for a manual over an auto 612?

There does seem to be an apparent premium. Even 456 6 spd are on the rise. The number of units is less important than the demand- and it is going up,no?

presume you are talking about like for like cars ie early 05 cars without the later handling packs or F-1 shift improvements let alone the OTO cars.

Manual is basically only 05 and 06... So $100k over the same years, yes...

It will also depend on whether the car is an HGTS or HGTC, which will certainly add value. Probably 2006 / 2007 models only.

Maybe but since you can retrofit the HGT parts it's not that big a deal...

By that logic, you can retrofit the man trans too ;)

BTW I still have yet to see numbers on a single recent 612 manual sale that support a premium of $100k. That auction should be interesting.

That price ($155k USD) is far from a $100k premium.

There are two OTOs for sale, right around $200k. I'm guessing an 05-07 manual would bring about $140-160k USD now. It will be interesting to see which is more collectible/desirable - an 05-07 manual or an 09/10 OTO.

A member here passed on a $200k bid... I also had feelers for mine in that price range...
