OK, convinced :) I'm happy when such rumours are disproved.
BTW the muffler was done by Kari Ruf former Dealer in the Zurich region, he made several of them.

I'm happy we found another one from the 160 Countachs delivered to switzerland.

The horrible chrome wheels are an easy enough fix, but the Michigan Wolverine interior is a little tough to swallow.

    The Bonhams estimate back in March 2015 was US$ 425,000 - 500,000.
Lot 138 was a no sale.
So probably sold for less than $420k by M. Brandon Motorcars today, as the eBay ad stated best offer accepted.

    1983 Lamborghini Countach LP500S ? M. Brandon Motorcars

    1983 Lamborghini Countach LP500S
    $420,000
    VIN: ZA9C00500CLA12540

I am extremely privileged to present this 1983 Lamborghini Countach LP500S. Finished in the classic Rosso Siviglia (red) exterior over Beige (tan) interior, and complimented by gold wheels and the optional rear wing, this side-draft carbureted Countach has had only four owners since new in its 31 year history.

Originally sold in Italy, the car was delivered to its first owner in Houston, TX. The second owner purchased the car with 5,675 km (3,700 miles) in 1994 and decided to perform an extensive engine-out service, as well as a complete repaint from bare metal using the correct Glasurit paint. (Extensive details on the service work and repaint are available upon request.)

Since the work in 1994, the car has been driven less than 5,000 km, and is currently showing 10,390 km (6,456 miles). The interior is completely original and shows as new. All gauges and electronics are functional. The paint, undercarriage, and engine compartment are in show quality condition. The original tools, manuals, all receipts, factory invoice, bill of sale, EPA/DOT federalization paperwork, and even the Lufthansa cargo ticket (from when the car was transported to the US in 1983) are present.

Sphere Motorsports in Houston recently completed a full maintenance service on the car. All servicing is now up to date, and the car is ready to be enjoyed on the road and as part of a discriminating owner's collection.

This Countach is quite possibly one of the finest examples of an LP500S in existence. Cars of this quality rarely are offered for sale, and the early carbureted Countach is the most desirable and valued. For more information, please contact Michael Foertsch at [email protected] or 832-617-0494.

IMO, this car is a Condition 1 car

Condition #1 vehicles are the best in the world. The visual image is of the best car, in the right colors, driving onto the lawn at the finest concours. Perfectly clean, the car has been groomed down to the tire treads. Painted and chromed surfaces are mirror-like. Dust and dirt are banned, and materials used are correct and superbly fitted. The one word description for #1 cars is "concours."

So I think its value approaches $500K soon enough...but thats just my 1.2 cents..thoughts

1985 Lamborghini Countach 5000S @ Russo And Steele
    Consignment # 4111
    VIN #ZA9C00500ELA12743

Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale August 13th 15th, 2015 at Russo and Steele’s 15th Annual Monterey California Auction.

When first introduced, the Countach took automotive design and engineering to a whole new level. Quite an accomplishment for an Italian tractor maker, but it became the icon for exotic styling predicting the angular style that became popular in the 1980s. Add to that the powerful V12 engine, an understanding of how the driver and the car worked in unison and that too much was never enough, and the Countach became the car every car-aware kid had to have a poster of on their bedroom walls. At the same time as this super-car was being developed, the U.S. government was instituting stricter emissions controls which meant that the 5000S sold in the USA had to be fuel-injected. However a few gray market carbureted versions were allowed circumstances.

This amazing 1985 5000 S was refreshed in its original red color, along with what appears to be original black leather seats. It came into the USA by Trans European Automobiles in October 1984. Still wearing original decals, ID tags and stickers, it is one of the last 5000S models produced. The throaty sound of those 6 Weber 2 barrel side draft carburetors exclusive for the S model, provide a symphony for gear-heads and the pure exhilaration this car provides the driver makes it all worthwhile. The car has been properly maintained which insures no disappointments will be found. A recent engine compartment refresh was also just performed this past June. Fitted with the highly desirable rear wing and factory five-hole alloy wheels this is the type of car many dream of, but few will own. Factory spare tire and a owners manual included in the sale. A very rare, correct and important part of Lamborghini history, this Countach is the perfect automobile for your collection.

Updated info on Consignment # 4049:
This amazing 5000 QV came from a private collection. It comes complete with it’s original numbers matching drivetrain. Driven a mere 29,645 KM (18,420 Miles) over the last 27 Years. Mostly in it’s un-restored condition, finished in its original Rosso color along with it’s original, refreshed tan leather seats and recently revived dash. Wearing mostly original decals, ID tags and stickers it is one of the last of the great Lamborghini’s produced. The Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection makes this car a pleasure to drive while providing a symphony of Italian muscle and the pure exhilaration this car provides the driver makes it all worthwhile. Fitted with the highly desirable rear wing and five-hole gold alloy wheels this is the type of car many dream of, but few will own. An important Countach that has been preserved for you to enjoy today.
