I bought this 2001 456M about a year ago and knew the color was rare but didn't know how rare. From the best data I can find, of the 317 known 456M made for the U.S. Market, only one was made in white. There are 70 unaccounted for so this could be one of the 70. My question is: does anyone know of another white US spec 456m? The interior is Cuoio. Thanks for your inputs.

No. I was told there were NO white ones, perhaps available.

Saw this on AutoTrader last year and nearly pulled the trigger on it myself, but wifey would have pulled a different trigger on me if I had :)

Gorgeous car, and it looked like one steal of a deal.

Congratulations, drive her in good health, and be a good custodian.

Please share where you got the 317 456M USA car figure from?

And do you know how many were stick shift vs. automatic?

And please share some more pix of the car and interior for us to see ;)

    Nice car!

Nice!! 122701? Of the ~240 NA-spec cars I have colors for, that is the only one I have in white :) The breakdown is approximately 72% auto, 28% manual. I agree with the 317 number as well, source: NHTSA data.

Looks great. And I usually find white boring.

Thanks to all for the kind comments. I will try to post some interior shots later.

Dan (Jodan108) that is my VIN. I think I saved one of your research posts but did not save where I obtained it so I couldn't give you credit for the info. Really appreciate all your hard work in collecting the data.

It looks like there is a strong likelihood only one 456M was made for the NA market and this is it. With that in mind does anyone have a feel for what this might do to the resale value? I'm thinking about putting it out there for sale or trade.

Not much for resale unless you find multiple buyers looking for a white one - and given that they only sold one in the us it's probably not a high demand color for the car. I like it, but I'd prefer blue so wouldn't pay more for white even if it's rare - but you could get lucky and find a buyer that has to have that color.

Love the white, drive her in good health and don't think about the resale value. Then again what do I know, I drive a blue ferrari.

He asked about resale value, just trying to give him a realistic answer.

To wit, red is the most common color for most models, and also the most valuable for resale.

It's possible that white is a more desirable color now than it was when new as tastes can change, which would make it worth more, but usually if they only made a handful of a particular color it's because it wasn't a popular color.

I think the car looks great, personally.

Love the white on a 456. Would be beneficial in a hot climate like Southern California !

Thanks to all for your comments. I realize I ask a speculative question and expected varying answers based on personal opinions.

Pete, (bobzdar) I think your comments are reasonable but view it this way. Having a 456M eliminates all those not wanting a 456M. An auto eliminates all those not wanting.... and so on. From a 456M standpoint, this car is worth what any other 456M is going for these days. But having the only one made a certain way, potentially attracts investors or someone who wants to speculate.

I think your car is the perfect example. Having a yellow berlinetta is pretty rare and I suspect your would agree, to the person who is looking for a 355 investment, yours is the ideal one to have - thus commanding a premium. (Fantastic looking car by the way).

I was hoping there might be someone out there who had some experience with limited edition F-cars from an investor point of view. Again, just a curiosity question as I love the car and it sure is a good color for these hot Texas days.

One more rarity, it's a 2001. Most of the ones on Cars.com and Autotrader are 1999 or 2000 cars...T
