Could we have more moderating of the F1 area please

Could I ask our F1 moderators to moderate more and stop ALL threads turning into Lewis Hamilton driving/personality/dress code arguments.

Somebody, for example, only has to say that he appeared to lose 0.001 of a second on the last lap and all hell breaks out. It is pathetic and seriously wasting Rob's server space and related costs.

It has long passed being even remotely amusing.

+1. The volume of personal abuse of other forum members and drivers in the forum is astounding. Finding real content is a chore not a pleasure and this needs fixing please.

 

The race thread is very clean if you put five people on ignore. FYI.

 

It seems that since the "Massa sucks" days some get fun from this kind of bashing, including some moderators, so we'll have to admit it as part of the "idiosyncrasies" of the F1 forum.

 

If the bashing were limited to the XYZ Sucks threads that would be fine by me, but it isn't. It is generally applied to any thread.

I agree that the F1 section has lost a lot of interest in the past few months for me, because of the inevitable, repetitive bickering that hijacks every thread lately.

We can't even have a good "Massa sucks!" discussion any more!

I agree though - this used to be a pretty "intelligent" place for discussing F1. Sure seems to have gone down the toilet lately.

I like this place - Opinions, as crazy as they may be, are generally pretty well tolerated IMO.

But, as I noted in my now locked thread on the subject, the signal to noise ratio has fallen thru the floor.

We've already lost quite a few "valuable" posters. And many more are on the verge of quitting because of this crap.

I guess, just like the races, it's all cyclical. Time to move elsewhere I feel.

It was my comment krafty, and it refers to the fact that you guys can't stand even one comment about your boy without spouting vitriol and BS at anyone who doesn't share your view.

 

I asked Ian a question, not YOU...can you at least understand that.

Agreed. There has been some excellent banter in the F1 section, spoiled by the ignorant, only to cause inevitable train-wrecks and contaminate these threads. Every time we get some data points streaming and begin to get to intelligent retorts, the thread derails with an onslaught of personal attacks and blind ambition. I can weather the occasional storm, but it's been raining s**t for too long.
