Its the Holy Grail of bbr's, you are not the only one.

Knew it existed, have been collecting bbr since 1985 and never saw it in person.

 

I knew about it also but stopped looking for one after I bought a Fujimi 288 GTO. Much more detail. Still the Fujimi is kind of common and a kit and the BBR super rare and a piece of art.

That BBR 288 GTO is a GREAT and super rare piece!!! I knew about them when they were made, and tried to order a few (for myself and two clients) from Wheels Model cars in the UK. I also contacted a few other dealers I was buying from on a regular basis, and the same problem existed with them. Unfortunately no one was able to supply any after their first shipments from BBR since many of these models got damaged in shipping, which apparently was a big problem. So BBR never produced the entire run. I have no idea how many or how few were produced, but one thing is certain....that is an extremely rare model.

Since then, I satisfied my 288 GTO model lust with a big 1:12th model by Tamiya. Not so rare, but certainly a detailed beauty.

 

Indeed, but still should be worth more than an ordinary Bburago Testarossa. Those Italia '90 models are prized among Bburago collectors, but still no huge amounts here.

 

Cool. 1:24 is a nice scale. Tamiya makes built models, not sure if they did one of the 288 GTO.

Amazing models..like many, the swb is my favourite...Amalgam also makes the 275 wich is an absolute beauty, and a tr pontoon fender...they are indded ,lovely models...but theyr price (like the real Ferraris) is not for everyone....

 

They are perfect!! a little to perfect for my taste..
If I could spend that kind of money I would rather buy a modell by Marshall Buck or Patrice de Conto.. or 3 Barnett's ;-) More artistic.. "but hey thats me.." Still love them

You might want to search out the August 3 issue of "Autoweek" magazine, which has an exploded view of Amalgam's Ferrari 375 Plus on the cover, and a nice, though brief (2 pages) article about them inside, with photos of the built up 375 Plus as well as the Pagani Huayra.

The Amalgam display is most impressive, what cabinetry was used? I can see each model has a display cover and is on a glass shelf, but can't see enough of cabinet to identify it.

 

Yup, the price is high but the result is amazing.

 

they are huge bbr's, 3d printed and made in China.
The price comes from the technology that is used to make them.

Amalgam's look amazing, exclusive and flawless, but they lack the feel of a handbuilt item.

A modell is like a piece of art, the model reflects the talent and skills of the maker.
Its the main reason I collect older models.

Don't get me wrong, they are beautifull, but at that price, there are much better, rarer in the market.
