Last time I have checked (a month ago), the cheapest Scud in Europe was 140 000 Euro. Now the cheapest one is 174 000 Euro. In Europe the prices are definately going up.
Looking at Autotrader the prices don't seem to be off what I saw since November last year, and the number of available Scuds is about the same (when I was looking from Nov. 2014 till Feb. 2015 there were about 16 Scuds available, today there are 17). What I do see is quite a few more very low mileage cars available then when I was looking. There is even one with less than 500 miles, and 5 below 5000 miles. At the low end the numbers look very similar, around $180k, and even that one was at reasonably low mileage of just over 7K and a single owner, in December those were asking for 190+, 220 if they were Red. I don't see any now, but just a month ago there were two or three to be had between 150-160k (with above 15k miles), one was even advertised and sold on F-Chat (had 28k miles I think). Anyway, we can agree to disagree, but I sure hope you are right and I am wrong! Ferrari F430 Coupes for Sale in Woodinville, WA 98072 - Autotrader
The Ferrari Market Letter never seems accurate, and whenever I have had actual information of actual sales, the numbers are significantly different than what they report. I think they must include wrecked cars, cars with salvage title, etc. that can drag the average price down dramatically--especially when the total number of cars changing hands is small. Ask anyone who is actually buying or selling these cars, and they will report that prices have been going up for the last year.

You can disagree with the facts if you wish but it won't change them. Individual data points ("this car is being sold for X") from AutoTrader don't mean much. It's the averages that matter and, on average, prices on AutoTrader are way up from where they were when I bought less than two years ago. How do I know this? Because I've actually been calculating them!
Your "facts" clearly differ from the Market Newsletters. I applaud your private efforts at tracking the market. I will stick to the numbers offered up by a reputable organizations that has been tracking the entire Ferrari market for years over your Autotrader based tracking. I still hope you are right. I would love to sell my Scud for over 200K in the near future.
So is mine... On a side note there are 3 Scuds for sale at our dealership here in Seattle, one black, one white, and one silver. The one with the largest ask is the black. It also happens to be a low mileage example with only 2k miles. a couple of months ago there was not a single one available.
Why don't you do the math yourself? It's pretty easy. Just addition and division. Then you'd see for yourself. As for the information you obtained from your "reputable organization," I'm sorry, but it's wrong and it's not just me saying it. Another poster even said that these guys are often wrong. Instead of blindly accepting what they say as gospel, why don't you track the market yourself and you'll see what the rest of us are seeing.
I can assure you prices have risen over the past couple years and have accelerated the past 6 months. When I was looking for a Scud early 2014, I looked at several (red w/ stripe) cars with sub 4K miles that were $180k-$190k range. Try finding them in that price range with low miles now. Just look over the FChat classified section.
Abedh, your math makes no sense to me...neither does your "market newsletter". Also, if you've truly been keeping up with the market, you should know black Scuderias have historically represented the bottom of the market (I didn't come up with the rules, the market dictated it as such) and a recent black one on fchat w 6.5k miles and san-stripe to boot sold for 190k. Another black one w silver stripes and 9k miles out of Illinois sold for 198k, I know this because a friend bought it and we had discussed Scuderias at length prior to his purchase. Red & white have historically commanded a 10-15k premium (at minimum), again I didn't write the rule book on this, the market did. So, if you run the simple math, prices have definitely gone up in recent months rather than down. People who buy Scuderias are buying history and an experience like no other Ferrari model. Can you name another model that was co-developed by 7-time wdc Michael Schumacher? Not even the CS or Speciale can match up to that pedigree. It also ushered in the now ubiquitous "manettino" dial and LED rev counter that you see on every Ferrari that rolls out of maranello . And 8yrs have past, yet the performance level of a scuderia is still up there with all the latest and greatest. The brutal sensation alone from the last-of-it's-kind single 60ms single clutch shift is a visceral experience no other lightweight variant can ever recreate. And oh, it's also the last pininfarina. You question why prices could go up? I question why it took this long for folks to realize how much car & Ferrari mystique they are getting at these prices.
Well, I have just listed my 2009 Nuovo Rosso / Formula 1 Scuderia for sale. I have it priced at the upper end of any Scuderia that I have seen listed for sale. It is a very rare color with a very high window sticker. We'll see what happens!
Rubbish - colour premiums are an old wives tale... You may sell a (resale) Red car easier than a less popular colour but XX% Premium - No way...
I agree with Freshmeat on this one... There is def a premium on red and white Ferraris like it or not!
There is no question that red and white are worth more and black is worth less. Personally, I like black and red but not white, but the market does not agree with me.
I do think Black looks good particularly for a Spider but you can't beat a White SCUD if you wan to see the design properly & moreover hardly anybody ever bought them in Black in EUROPE/CH
when I drive around in my Rosso Scuderia Spider and White SCUD, its the SCUD which gets the waves from other people
I agree on Freshmeat's post… Red and white are mostly sought after for the scud, especially here in my country. I'm the only one with an avus bianco scud and at least 5 of my friends are all lined up IF EVER I sell it! For a premium? Yes definitely… they all said because of the color. I really think the value of the scud will go up especially when the 488 Speciale version comes out in 2-3 years. More demand, not enough scuds I have a friend here who got IPE full exhaust for his Speciale, sounds good but not as great like the scud! And of course the up shifts and down shifts… the Speciale is just so refined that you won't hear the POP or "race feel". Its all in the Scuderia!
Red and white Scuderia all the way , there going to be very rare cars down the road, glad I didn't sell my 09 Scud Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice - great spec. Can't tell exactly what paint that is (rosso corsa?). Looks almost identical to mine except I have that nuovo rosso scud paint which in some lights looks candy apple red.
OK since we have gotten onto the color/value side of things where do you guys think a Giallo Modena Scuderia stands in the pricing hierarchy? I can tell you that on the lawn of this years Cavallino Classic, where it won platinum, that it certainly looked very impressive surrounded by a sea of red! Image Unavailable, Please Login
