I have just removed my rear torsion bar to repaint.. Is it worth replacing the rear D rubbers? The ones on the car have probably been there from new? or at least 12 years... would new ones help firm things up?

also do the drop link bars come out once the end nut is removed from the torsion bar?

    Thanks in advance..

Yes easy to replace, I did mine last year.
The small drop links just come off with that one bolt and slides off.
Then fit new black rubbers, the front ones are a little harder to get off though, did those also.
Nice easy job and worth while :)

    Thanks Paul

Did you replace the top bushes in the drop links? if so do they need pressed out/in? any telltale signs to check condition?

Now I know the every thing comes apart I can get the torsion bar blasted and painted, it makes such a difference...

    Hi Rod
Once you have the drop link bar in your hand (the aluminium colour piece)
You may find it hard to get the old rubbers out two at top and two at bottom, I used a small socket and pushed them out.

They are approx 25 years old so weather they look good when you take them out they will be hardened rubber by now compared to the new ones which I got mine from superformance
    Have fun :)

Are you on club suderia as well in the UK

Thanks Paul, going to order the bits tomorrow from superperformance. Yes on club scuderia as Roony... I'm just up the road from you in South Derbyshire! We must have a run out some time!
