The problem is that the 360 and F430 lines were the top dog performers for their day. People need the specs, and so do buyers of Porsche, which is why even the GT3 went full-DCT and no manual tranny. When you slot in a car that is a notch below in the performance bucket, however, then you have a different market.

People don't buy the GT4 because it's fastest around a track. It isn't. But that makes it easier to make the stick shift a part of the package and why it has been such a big demand success. It also generates great buzz for the brand amongst enthusiasts.

A GT4 with PDK is pretty close to a Cayman GTS. 10 hp difference and the GTS is pretty much identical performance. Yes, there are other nice bits added, but big selling point is the manual and the reason I bothered to get an allocation in the first place.

I don't think Ferrari's top performing cars necessarily call for a stick option, and the Cali is too focused on non-enthusiast buyers to be considered as part of any test. A Dino type car, however, would have made sense to get with a stick.

Macan shares the same platform as the Audi Q5/SQ5.

Yes, Macan and Cayenne... thought I wrote "SUVs" earlier but that is correct.

It looks very Japanese. Not bad, but I hope that is not the Dino.

I'm seeing some last gen MR2 in that nose but I'll take it. Digging the air/cooling 'gills' in the back

I don't see this car having 3 pedals and no power steering but I'm not giving up on it!

If they are really going to respond to Porsche's highly successful "connected" cars (Cayman GT-4 & Boxster Spyder), then it better be a manual transmission car.

Not a fraction of Ferrari DNA in the mockup. I think the artist needs to realize this is a FERRARI and not an Acura or Audi! Highly highly doubt it looks anything like this with the exception of an air intake on the side of the car. Headlights are NOTHING like ferrari. Again, its a FERRARI not an Audi or Acura.

Believe me I want this thing be fully analog. I'd also like to see it be non-turbo but they'll want this to be the starter package for the 488...the 458 is the last of that clan. Surely the guys behind the gate want this car to be raw as well but when all is said and done an F1 gearbox and power steering are just a couple of easy ways to command at least the same $$ as a more 'tame' Cali. I want to believe-but these guys are trying to move more units now and they know what happens when they stick a horse on these cars

If that yellow render proves to be even in the ballpark, I think the used 458 and 430 markets will get some more support!

The red render looks much better. Just need to do something about the slightly cross-eyed fish look.

I think the rendition looks great! A little too much homage to the original.. but really cool! Esp. the headlights!
