Congrats - Enjoy in good health :-)
Good deal man. As Piper mentioned, it's service records are intact and you got it for a fair price within your budget. Net is enjoy the car and drive it in good health! Congrats. PS - I am so glad you didn't grab that lemon in AZ. Yikes!!!
Congratulations!! Please provide us with some pictures and your first driving impressions when you get the car.
Funny that a 30K-mile 599 is bottom fishing. I realize these are only 8-year old used cars, but now that I've seen sub-20K mile Ferraris going through restorations due to age, I wonder why we pay so much for self-denial. </sermon>
Of course you are aware that the car cannot receive the performance part of the HGTE upgrade due to the ECU/TCU.
Very aware. That's why I completed my due diligence. If the ECU/TCU is removed completely and upgraded; then that is null & void. That's exactly what they did and it's been verified. I was shocked, but eager to place a deposit and call her mine after learning such!
Terry, sadly, seems to have left Fchat at this point so we can't ask his expert opinion on the matter again, but this has been pretty well explored and I don't believe it's possible. Do some searching. Anyway, WHO CARES. Enjoy your 599.
Please know that I'm not a fool. I have documentation and a thorough conversation with the service manager. He said it's legit as the bill was close to $25,000.00. However, I understand it could all be a hoax. Doesn't matter to me because I have paperwork and service records which say otherwise. Helping with he veh value. I can promise you she has the exhaust as the tips are different. I prob will do some additional research to add to her dossier later on. The true test would be to have someone check out the ECU/TCU to see if it is infact switched out for newer one.
Nono, don't misunderstand. I'm sure your car did get the suspension upgrades. You just can't get the ECU upgrade. And I seriously, SERIOUSLY doubt if you drove a 2007 with HGTE suspension back to back with one that had the full HGTE package that you would be able to tell the difference.
Good information to have. Hahah yeah we may be splitting hairs and I'm sure once I drive her it won't matter. I just want to have my facts straight. I hate people with wrong info - so the last thing I want is to be one! I was told it was replaced on top of the exhaust, suspension and aesthetic pieces. But who knows. I guess there's at least piece of mind in the suspension and exhaust upgrades which were documented as a factory kit upgrade at a dealership.
There are several components to the HGTE package. The bolt ons would include suspension, wheels, I suppose the seats, and the ECU's if your car can accommodate. You could potentially have all except the ECU upgrades. Probably don't have the seats though. I've never heard of a car getting the after factory upgrades and having the seats.
Never heard it put in those terms before. Certainly understand. When my clutch went out on the Maser I was instantly ready to move on..
I just put my second GT up for sale. Gave it an honest second try. Car is only 3 years old, depreciated $80k, still under warranty and dropped it off with a jammed top, broken seat back lever and CEL. **** it. 650i, here I come.
