    Guys,

    I'm looking at a few 308 GTSi 2V and as these cars weren't the most coveted - many have some rust in the doors. My thinking was to just have the rust cut out and new metal patched and painted. However, is this still "best practice" given the transition of these cars from "used" to "classic" Ferrari's?

    Most 308's suffer from some or other rust malady at some point, either on the lower section of the doors or behind the front or rear wheal arches. A good panel shop should be able to fabricate new panels and weld them in the crease line making the repair virtually invisible. As with anything in life, cost is relative to the quality of work performed!

    Several years ago I had a lower door panel replaced,and i can tell. It is the straightest panel on the entire car, and my car has never been hit or damaged.

    But other than that, the crimping looks original,and you can't tell that anything had been replaced.
